Great location - as good as it gets. Reception very helpful. Price per night is reasonable. Downside was a pretty sparse apartment with uncomfortable lounge suit and bed not far behind. We probably wouldn’t stay again based on these.
Was quite a poor experience overall, we were greeted at the reception by a quite rude, inexperienced and slightly condescending female receptionist who made a snide remark at the booking site we used booking.com along with confusing us by saying we only have “one room for the four of us” when we had clearly stated we booked 2 separate rooms. Upon realising she had made a mistake she went on a tangent and told us she assumed we needed a conjoined room when such a statement was never made let alone even mentioned.nnUpon arrival to the rooms we were staying in 307/308, we noticed a pungent chemical smell from room 307, we immediately called up room service and had to wait 30 minutes for housekeeping to arrive which handed us an airfreshner and left. It didnt help much so we left the balcony doors open for the rest of the day.nThe bathroom in 307 was lacking half the glass door, there were no tissue papers provided, no bodywash in the bathrooms, had cheap toilet paper and the bathroom sink kept flooding.nnThe hotel’s parking entrance is dangerously designed and definitely not built to manoeuvre a ute through without scraping the sides.nnThe location of the building was the only redeemable part of our experience as it had quite easy access to the metro which allowed for ease of travel to the city.
Meriton is home away from home. I've been staying with Meriton in Sydney various locations, Brisbane, South Port and Surfer's Paradise. Clean, spacious apartments with great amenities at the hotel.nImagine going to the gym, working out hard in a well equipped gym then sitting in the spa and relaxing. If you feel like detoxing, use the sauna then jump in the pool to cool down.nPossibilities are endless. We have received chocolate and champagne when we stayed for bday or anniversary.nMy only suggestion would be that Meriton goes back to their pre-Covid standards. There has been a gradual drop in the quality of service and cleanliness of the showers, not in one branch, it's across all the branches.nIt's good to see Meriton is expanding, we can't wait to visit Melbourne staying at Meriton's new hotel.
4 stars because i do enjoy staying here, location is great and bedding, furniture are great . What lets it down is the poor quality appliances and maintenance. Have stayed there twice now , for 20 nights in total , and had endless issues with the TV, poor reception. I could never watch a whole show without losing reception, in the middle of Sydney, on mainstream channels . Called guest services , but it didn't improve, cables just jammed behind the tv, which fell down as soon the maintenance person left. Have also had issues with the washing machine had to go and do my laundry in another room... fridge poor quality and never cold enough, also had issues with the dishwasher not starting, and the carpark number plate reader denying me entry, and trying to get me to pay, even though i'd paid in my booking. I do like this place, but next time may consider other options
