Overall, this is a convenient place to stay. The staff were professional and helpful, the room was spacious and generally clean although the floor itself was quite dirty, and while the TV in the living room did not work, there was another one in the bedroom so it wasn’t a major issue. The location is excellent, with many key sights within walking distance.nMy main concern relates to how marketing consent is presented during check-in. It was bundled together with a long list of standard terms that guests are asked to sign. It wasn’t obvious that agreeing also meant consenting to marketing communications, and declining to sign would effectively mean not being able to complete check-in. This gave the impression that agreeing to marketing was a condition of staying, rather than a separate optional choice.nIn addition, when my friend crossed out the line relating to marketing consent before signing, she was told that doing so did not count as refusing consent. Later, when connecting to Wi-Fi, I was again prompted to agree to marketing use of my data. When I asked reception whether there was a way to access Wi-Fi without agreeing, I was told there wasn’t. I was also informed that guests can complete a separate form to “suppress” marketing communications, and that guest data is retained indefinitely. This option and explanation were not mentioned during check-in.nThe stay itself was comfortable. However, marketing consent should be optional, and clearer, more transparent communication about data use, consent choices, and retention policies would improve the guest experience and allow guests to make informed decisions about their stay and how their personal data is used.nnI received my first marketing email from the company shortly after my stay, despite being informed that submitting the suppression form would prevent marketing communications. This suggests the process is clearly not functioning as explained!
We stayed in a 3 bedroom altitude suite on the 71st floor and we felt like royalty. We were all positively awestruck by the panoramic views and the luxurious feel of the apartment itself. The views were better than I could have dreamed - we could see most of the city skyline, the Storey bridge, the other Meriton tower to the west, the rolling hills in the distance and of course the beautiful winding river with constant ferries. I literally could have gazed out the windows for hours.nnThe apartment itself was wonderful, very spacious and felt like a proper home rather than just a hotel room. The 2nd bedroom is a bit pokey due to the odd shape of the room the corner of the bed almost hits the angled wall so it's difficult to move past it but a very very minor non-issue overall. We felt spoiled for space overall, especially storage space, there was heaps!nnThe service from the reception staff was amazing, the facilities were great. My kids enjoyed the pool and spa. We were easy walking distance to a Woolies supermarket and there was a convenience store at the base of the hotel expensive though and of course all the restaurants along the river near the bridge were only a few minutes walk.nnIf you're arriving by train just be aware it's a very hilly walk from the nearest station, especially if you are dragging along luggage.nnStaying here was one of the most magical experiences we've ever had, and now my kids want to move to Brisbane
My partner Sami and I recently stayed at Meriton Suites Adelaide Street and unfortunately our experience didn’t quite meet expectations.nnWhile the room itself was clean and presented neatly, it didn’t feel as premium as we were anticipating based on the website and overall branding. For the price point, we expected a bit more in terms of comfort and overall experience.nnThe biggest downside for us was the parking situation. Parking was not on-site and required a walk down a fairly steep hill to access the car park, and then back up the hill to return to the hotel. This was quite inconvenient, especially when carrying bags. Clearer communication about the parking location prior to arrival would be helpful for future guests.nnWe were also disappointed with the location. It is positioned closer to Fortitude Valley rather than Queen Street Mall, which wasn’t ideal for what we had planned. The location felt less central and convenient than we expected, and clearer representation of this on booking platforms would help manage expectations.nnAdditionally, during the day we noticed vomit in the hallway near the elevators. When we returned later in the early evening, it still had not been cleaned. This was quite unpleasant and disappointing, particularly in a hotel that presents itself as high quality. Greater attention to monitoring and promptly addressing cleanliness in common areas would significantly improve the guest experience.nnOverall, the stay was okay, but not somewhere we’d be rushing back to. While the room itself was clean, the parking situation, location, and maintenance of shared spaces did not meet the standard we were expecting. We hope this feedback is taken constructively to improve future guests’ experiences.
Excellent apartment hotel. Generous rooms which are exceptionally well appointed. Very comfy bed, great shower and kitchenette. Pool facilities are tremendous, highly recommended. Aircon in the room is excellent and much needed as the external floor area is quite warm. Staff are delightful and very attentive. Lovely view over to Storey Bridge. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby and a minimart downstairs. Parking/driveway to the rear of the hotel is excellent.
Our experience in the beginning was amazing and loved the room and the staff until we had accidentally lost one of our room keys telling the front desk and a lady gave us a new one but unfortunately did not deactivate the key and we did not know we had to ask for it to deactivate and our room GOT BROKEN INTO AND THEY STOLE ITEMS FROM US, police were notified and the front desk lady Cathy was amazing in helping but it’s ridiculous that we aren’t the first to loose a room key and the First Lady who replaced our room key didn’t deactivate the others for our safety, it appears not everyone in the hotel cares for their guests safety. They are lucky we don’t have lots of money because the wrong person could have done worse things to the reputation of the hotel. We will not be coming back and hope the Meriton fixes their priorities about the security and safety of guests full heartedly
