The rooms were clean can’t fault, no microwave or toaster. Was told after arriving there was no restaurant for dining would have been great to know this before hand. No electric blankets. And after one year coming here before hand the pancake machine for breakfast is still broken! Chef refused to make pancakes. Won’t be staying here again very disappointing.
Arrival was very easy, there is a 4M high entrance so perfect for larger vans and caravans. Lots of parking, my room was upgraded as I was a member of the Accor. Highly recommend this as free drinks and some complimentary items when you get higher levels. I loved the red wine and macarons. The tv reception is terrible in the rooms. There is a nice walk around the grounds and the restaurant is fantastic. The meals I've had have been first class, possibly some of the best fillet steak and perfectly cooked I've ever eaten. The staff in the restaurant are attentive and very friendly and a credit to the hotel. I'd love to be able to buy the macarons they give complimentary as they were fantastic.
On Sat 2nd May I celebrated a special birthday at the Mercure. I found the whole experience, of planning the event and then the actual service and delivery of the lunch, was excellent. Staff were very helpful, flexible and accommodating throughout. On the day, the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The menu provided a wide range for each course, and the food was delicious and very nicely presented. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Well done!
Very comfortable hotel, nice bed and bathroom, very cold outside but nice inside. The WiFi was great but had a router or an access point in the room that would light up randomly throughout the night and illuminate the room that was otherwise pitch black.
What a beautiful place. The lake and the gardens are beautiful the rooms well appointed with heritage furnishings clean and tidy. Dining room was lovely and the food delicious. I enjoyed my stay immensely. I will stay again.
