Set in and around the lovingly restored heritage cargo sheds on the Yarra’s edge, Melbourne Public can be found on the banks of Melbourne’s newest drinking and dining secret – South Wharf. With interiors inspired by 1920s industrial flair of polished brass, exposed beams and heritage features, Melbourne Public ensures a memorable experience every time.

Totally great atmosphere ! Saturday for my best friends birthday we arrived with 25 of our friends. All were let in, no dramas, no discrimination. Surprising considering we are a bunch of all sorts. Apart from the cocktails being extremely tasty. The bar service was impeccable. My partner being coloured, often gets knocked back at places and finds it difficult to order a drink at best. (Horrible right!) Upon approaching your bar, we were both asked several times if we had been served. Which blew me away! The staff were fast, happy and so attentive. It was fantastic.   I just wanted to commend your staff on having pride in proper venue etiquette and value how customers are treated. Because I can tell you there’s many places in Melbourne that have lost my business but Melbourne Public is the only place I always seem to come back to.   Amanda x

I really loved this place. The staff were great, very friendly and had our drinks out in no time. The food was very tasty! And priced well with a good selection. The atmosphere was great and loved the music, I think we went on 90s night so it was a lot of fun! Highly recommend.

I had a private function here a few months ago and it was perfect. Amanda and her team were amazing and very accomodating with all of our special requests. Everyone had a ball and there was plenty of delicious food and drinks. I would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate having another function here... i just need to find another reason for a party :) thank you Amanda

Friendly service helpful. We didn't eat we just had a drink can't comment on the food but the alcohol service was fantastic
