Mama Rosy is not only authentic, but also very good. The pizza I got, a Mama Rosy’s on a red base, was well cooked, crispy outside and fluffy inside, the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Will come back and so should you.
Looking at all the great reviews I am really not sure why the food we ordered was so bad. The restaurant location and ambience is great. Service is good a little slow if you sit upstairs but food was a big letdown. The menu on the night was very limited compared to what their website says and it was viewing the menu online that made us decide on this restuarant amongst the 100 others in Newtown. The prawn and asparagus linguine had only 1 prawn in it and the mushroom rissotto was burnt and we had to send it back. We had to go somewhere else to eat after spending more $150 betweeen four people on food. So not worth it.
This is my favorite go to for local pizza, and the potato gnocchi is a go to comfort food. I recommend getting a table in the garden out the back. When I take my niece down to collect pick ups- staff are nice enough to give her baby nutella jars. I introduced her cannoli here, she gobbled it up with ease
Second visit, just as good as the first. Excellent food, huge servings, great price, incredibly friendly staff. Will be back a third time!
A confused dining experience, somehow, but the Pizza is OK. Pizza chef in front of house entirely disinterested in life? and did not acknowledge ourselves, spent most of the hour and a half we were there resting against the counter looking at his phone. Waitress seemed to be trying to do her best - our order was mixed up, she sorted that, and the reduced the volume of the Italian tradional music. We were only customers, trying to talk to each other - you know, like they do in Europe? I suspect the staff didn't much like the music as they put on the music when we took our seats. Pizzas 4/5 - we had Italian sausage and potato which was good, and something with too much ham on it, making it a bit wet in the middle. Anchovies we added to a pizza not so great quality for a restaurant. Pizza base is good. Salad - big portion - good. I might return to to take-away, being walking distance, local business, etc. - it does beat the current completion - but I wouldn't repeat the in-house dining experience.
I have eaten at Mama Rosy's twice, once on our anniversary and once as a home delivery. The service was amazing on our anniversary night, when we arrived they got balloons and candles for us and got us a special table which is something I haven't experienced anywhere else. The food itself is really good, The pizza is made the way Pizza should be, really soft with a nice texture. The pastas and the arancini balls were great as well. When you get home delivery the quality is exactly the same. In conclusion I recommend everyone come and try this place out.
Pretty average place and food. The style of the restaurant is interesting and you can enjoy being there especially at the back. The oven pizza is interesting nonetheless average. Pricing is OK and the staff were friendly and happy to discuss your options with you. One thing that was really disappointing was that upstairs they had radio music playing at least when I went and no A/C it was kinda cold...
The food was excellent! That very traditional pizza dough was delicious and I definitely recommend the place and I will come back. A quite sweet desert at the end - the cake - and the restaurant was a bit warm. But, the atmosphere was still cosy and inviting.

Ate here around a year ago and it was really great, that’s the reason for the extra star. The last two meals ordered from here were average at best. We received wrong pizza from a ubereats delivery, and then last night we picked up 2 pizzas - they were really aweful - cold and looked sloppy. The pizza maker was arguing with another member of staff, and he didn’t care we were standing there. They seemed very disorganised and it took 45 minutes to make our order the restaurant was empty downstairs. Very disappointing.
