This is a very special place. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and over that time there has been minimal staff turnover. Staff quality, both pharmacists and pharmacy assistants, has always been excellent. They are always professional, genuine, friendly, positive, motivated and committed. They have taken wonderful care of me and my family over the years. Their relationship with customers is what differentiates them from other pharmacies and it is very much a community. Highly recommend if this is what you value in a pharmacy.
I am always treated with courtesy and respect and receive excellent advice and service. I witnessed a young staff member today dealing with a very difficult older customer and her customer service skills were excellent. The customer gave her a very difficult time wanting a refund that wasn't appropriate. The customer tried hard to get her way and resorted to personal criticism. However, she was met with a polite respectful assertive repeating of the policy and procedures of the pharmacy. Well done!
Used to be a discount pharmacy however not any more. Have been a loyal customer for many years because of the good service and prices - however lately everything I have purchased is a lot more expensive than other pharmacies. I purchased some medication a few weeks a go and it was 5 times more expensive than the same kind at Chemist warehouse. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. On Sunday I purchased another medication and again, it was nearly double the Chemist warehouse price for the same medication. i wont be going back.
The customer service in this business is abysmal. Conflicting information about release of scripts. the business is now owned by Priceline which is explains the lack of care, My doctor faxed script and because they didn't have the post copy they refused to release urgent medication. DO NOT go here. The business used to be good as Iive in Macquarie 20 year resident. Their customer service is deplorable. I have reported to the National Health Practitioner Ombudsman and if you have a poor experience with Macquarie Discount Pharmacy I suggest that do also. Frank W
Since Priceline is taking over, the new staff haven't got a clue as to what they're doing, they can process or find basic scripts and font know how to use the computer it seems. They then palm you off telling you they'll get someone else to help, and then standing there doing nothing even when it's busy. I also overheard a pharmacist working at the counter tell another customer that she isn't even employed by Macquarie discount pharmacy or Priceline. Just a huge mess
I won't go anywhere else. The service is amazing and the people here actually care about your health. The staff at Macquarie discount pharmacy have gone above and beyond for me several times. They are busy but still make manage to give personalised service and help in any way they can. I've been going here got years and they are only getting better with time.
When my wife and I started coming here they were good but the last couple years the service has been atrocious. Staff are rude, uninformed and give zero impression they care a single jot about the customer. Despite this being the closest and slight cheaper pharmacy we won't be back. Not worth dealing with the wait time and rudeness.
First we waited to be served then waited even longer to speak to pharmacist. That didn't really bother me but when we went to pay the man on the cash register was so rude and practically threw our purchases at us. "Cheaper Prices" don't make up for terrible customer service.
I have been with this chemist for 13 years ever since it opened. Luke the owner of this business is usually in attendance but does have time off. The counter staff has changed over the years and I have always found them polite and helpful. If I want to know something about a drug I ask to speak to the qualified pharmacist. What I found is that if I have any changes to my scripts, the changes are noted and a pharmacist usually comes and asks me if I have had similar or if I am taking something that may conflict with the new drug. I am made aware and advised I should maybe see or call the Doctor to check. Yes the business is very busy at times so as I don't like waiting I telephone ahead and then pick up the script later. I have never had a rude or discourteous situation with staff. But I have seen quite a few discourteous members of the public. I suggest that those who have an unpleasant situation that you look at yourself. Or you can go elsewhere, you have options. As to pricing it is always wise to find out the best price. Take into account if I found a cheaper price in Woden why would I go to them if I live in Gungahlin or Belconnen? vice versa. Spend a dollar to save a cent. Bit stupid isn't it. Why should you have your script sooner than anyone else? If more staff is your answer then who is to pay the wage? Well I am in no doubt that any business will have to find the best way to pay and that wage will be spread over and absorbed by the business but it may also incur a price rise. So who in the end pays ... the customer. Thank you Macquarie Discount Chemist, I am happy with your service..
Used MedAdviser to order 2 scripts. On script was correct the other I have been using for 10 years was only one pkt not the normal 2. Questioned this but was told no the script was different. Went to pay $102.00. Excuse me, I don't think so.. went back to question this and oh it was incorrect. Then I was told that one script had gone upslightly. I then asked more questions and oh ths script that tey told me was only one box they now say should be 2 boxes. They didn't have any in stock, come back tomorrow afternoon when it will be in. BEWARE: CHECK PRICE, SCRIPTS AND ASK QUESTIONS. I feel many people who don't ask questions may be being ripped off. As for MedAdviser and the Pharmacy, something that was supposed to make life easier and faster. Well I spent 45 minutes sorting out my medication. This os not the first time I have had issues with this Pharmacy.
