Capital Chemist O'Connor is over-priced and the service is sub-standard, bordering on rude. Unfortunately is one of the few in Canberra that is open late. If you want a good alternative after hours, go to Amcal at Westfield Belconnen - it is open until 9pm on weekdays and 5pm on weekends and offers the standard of service you would expect from a quality pharmacy.

Poor service, extremely rude staff. The older lady gave me the wrong information then when I looked online on the products website to confirm what I was trying to explain, the lady walked off on me before I finished explaining what the product information online said. Well done! Way to make your customers feel valued.

Not family friendly. Went there with a sick baby and a three-year old. When I was told a script would take five minutes my child sat down quietly on the step inside the front door. As this blocked the way, I moved him to the back of the shop but he, being three, wanted to explore the shop contents. Trying on sunglasses, picking up bandages, checking out eye-level medication, etc. Because this is kind of hard to manage when carrying a sick baby, I took him back to the front of the shop and sat him down on the step to one side of the door so we would not be in the way. He sat here quietly until we were told to move. That is such a small thing, but with a sick baby... one who had been sick over night. When kids are sick overnight you don't get much sleep. Neither do they. This is what being sick is about and why we go to the doctor and then to the pharmacy to sort out. So a sick baby and a tired, inquisitive child in a pharmacy and there's one place where the child can sit and be happy and quiet for five minutes and then we are told that we are not allowed to sit there. I've got to say, there are some pretty bad examples of customer service in Canberra's pharmacies, so I limit my patronage to a handful. Until today O'Conner was one of them. I will warn my friends, particularly those with kids with special needs, that O'Connor does not make kids welcome.

I have edited this review as over the last 6 months the service has become sub-standard. One particular pharmacist continues to question my prescriptions and the directions from the doctor. Almost every time I ask for basic over the counter medicines I get the third degree and generally now feel very uncomfortable shopping there.
