I have known of Ash for a number of years, but this is the first time we have done business. It was a very rewarding experience. Ash used his market knowledge and considerable negotiating skills to get the best outcome we could have expected for our property. Above all, Ash is extremely patient and courteous, but also persistent. He is able to find a solution for all situations and he would be the first person I will call when I am buying or selling again.

I have worked with John Warlow the owner of the business and his family for a number of years and have always found him to be trustworthy, honest and reliable. He has installed great values into the day to day running of his real estate business. His staff are very friendly and I will continue working with them into the foreseeable future.

Absolutely horrible service. LJ Hooker was my property manager for 5 years and once my specific property manager left, it all went down hill. The tenants destroyed much of my property and they did not tell me about it. It was not brought to my attention until my family went to an open house of my property. They then proceeded to charge me all of the damages made by the tenants so long after the tenants moved out I couldn't claim on insurance. They do not value your loyalty to them whatsoever and they literally almost cost me my mortgage because I was not receiving any rental income for 6 months. So disappointed and frankly, they should be reported for this.

***BEWARE*** Please note that the majority of the positive reviews on Google Reviews (Angie Curtis, Ash Hender, LJ Hooker) are from employees of the agency itself. The other reviews are certainly more trustworthy and telling. My own personal experience with LJ Hooker Logan City as both a landlord and a buyer has left my head still shaking in wonder at how such an agency manages to operate with such little professional integrity and organisation, and a willingness to waste their clients' time. PROBLEMS WITH LETTING Lowlights relating to the letting management team and BD Manager include: 1 - The letting agent, without my permission, entering into a lease with tenants with a large dog at $310/week for six months, despite my having previously said no to the large dog, and instructions to let the property for $315 week for 12 months. No apology was received for this error. 2 - The letting team suddenly and without notice removing my listing because they mistakenly thought they did not have my Form 6 on file. I had to follow this up from overseas and get my property re-listed, even though they had had the agreement all along and had simply not kept proper internal records . This meant that crucially my property was off the market while I was incurring costs. I never received an apology for this. 3 - Lack of proactiveness in getting my property marketed and let in a timely way: - Despite returning the completed Form 6 and the property going unconditional, and my chasing, a week lapsed before the LJ Hooker even listed the property for rent, meaning that I was unnecessarily out of pocket for this time) - The letting team simply copied the ad used for the sale (designed to attract buyers, not renters). I had to personally write the copy for the ad. - I had to constantly prompt the agency to reduce the weekly rent amount to meet the market and to capture interest for viewings. - The agency refused to hold any open homes for the property, saying they only opened up on appointment. - I had to ask them to follow up with people who inspected the property before they did so. 4 - After a long period of lack of interest to their ad and lack of follow up actions on their part, LJ Hooker said they would re-list my property so that it would come up as a new listing. However, I discovered that they never did this. 5 - Lack of responsiveness via email and telephone. I was never able to get a hold of the BD Manager/Letting Manager over the phone on the first try, despite calling from overseas. I very rarely received a response to an email without having to send at least one chaser. I was often passed around from person to person (I never knew who was responsible for taking care of a particular issue/who was responsible for following up). I always had to chase for inspection reports. 6 - Incomplete and vague responses to my emails. In fact, the two timely and proactive emails I received were the BD manager trying to sell me an insurance product (for which she would have received a commission) and issuing an invoice (which incorrectly charged an extra sum). 7 - On my identifying an extra amount incorrectly charged on my invoice, a refusal to refund me the sum until the next statement, leaving me out of pocket for their error. 8 - The letting manager informing me there was an issue with the oven and then not responding to with my requests and follow ups to obtain a quote to repair. She falsely told the tenants and my new agency that I did not want to repair the oven. MISLEADING STATEMENTS DURING SALE The selling agent made a number of statements to induce me to buy, including that part of downstairs was of legal height, that he took $8k off his own commission to effect the sale, and that his rental appraisal was $350-$370. As soon as the sale went unconditional, I didn't hear from him again, not even to congratulate me on the purchase. I also asked for assurance on his statements made but he distanced himself from them with obfuscating and generic statements.
