Lots of hidden gems, great second hand stores, excellent ghost befriending opportunities, some darker areas are actually really welcoming of anyone who decides to go to the no-go zones alone after midnight, as long as you're respectful and also entertaining enough to not get annihilated by unintentionally implying they're not the most terrifying entities ever.nnAlso many of the local community members have unfortunately had to develop an almost callous seeming understanding of what it means to survive the winter months; a friend lost 4 friends to suicide last week. It's not uncommon for many men here to feel alone and unnoticed.nnA literal multiple medal winning hometown hero Olympian has chosen to spend time tidying up other people's mess, with zero recognition from many so-called locals.nnSome apparently indigenous female appearing individuals are unaware of what that means within the context of many actual elders being not actually dark skinned at all, but as shown in basically all realistic and genuine Aboriginal visual history records, those who came from the stars had no pigment in their skin.nnThis is true of the many originals I've spent time with over the last few years, which I've spent travelling around the country speaking with various Gods and Goddesses. Real ones generally don't claim anything of the sort, which makes sense. They don't need to.nnThey do however love chatting to people who appreciate Dad jokes, and who decide to trust that chances of getting murdered by strangers you've met at the borderline between Redfern and the other side at 3am are not high, given that sometimes the scariest ones are also responsible for ensuring the safety of me while I'm getting to know the others in the interconnected families.
It's perfect for people who want to live a slow living. The city is quiet. People there are so warm and welcome. All train or busses staff are so helpful. You can find lots of small Caffè and Bookstore around the station.nnSilly, but I love the public toilet lol
Main train stop from Sydney to the west. The station is old, but clean. If you're coming to Lithgow for some breakie or lunch I'd recommend the Lithgow House cafe just near here. Overall a good station
I liked the information room upstair of the station, it keeps you warm in the winter while waiting for your train from Lithgow. They let you charge your phone for free with their available cables in the charging phone lockers station, only need to set up your 4 digital password and remember it, your phone would be securely charged in the locker, and you can sit on one of the chairs in the room and read a book books available in their bookself there. I found an interesting book to read while waiting for my train to Katoomba from Lithgow station today.nP/s: I would give it a 5 star review if one of the train guards didn't smoke at Flatform 2 around 5:42pm on Saturday 08 June 2024
Lithgow railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on the Main Western line at Railway Parade, City of Lithgow. The station has frequent NSW TrainLink services running to and from Sydney Central. It is the terminating point for NSW TrainLink Blue Mountains Line services from Sydney Central. It is also served by the Bathurst Bullet to Bathurst, the Central West XPT to Dubbo and the Outback Xplorer to Broken Hill.
