My friend brought me here as she always enjoyed this place and had a groupon for the cafe. One of the most wonderful, non pretentious place that I have been to!! Good food and good service too! We ordered a baked rabbit and a corn and zucchini fritters with latte and a green tea latte. The baked rabbit gravy was of a right consistency and the polenta was a good match to dip it in. The corn and zucchini fritters was really filling and it has an amazing spice to it. I would definitely order the corn and zucchini fritters again as it filled me up to dinner time. The green tea latte was very nice too. The service staff were very friendly and for a small cafe, they were really attentive, even though the place was pretty crowded. They were not fussy and served sparkling water and still water to both of us as requested. I look forward to bringing more friends over soon.
The pancake is really nice n fluffy. Love the candiced bacon, it's crispy yet not burned, not a lot of cafes I have been to can execute it well! Love the flavour combo and the added crunchiness from the walnut too. The bake egg is also nice, the olives go well with the dish. We visited on a Saturday morning, I was surprised the place wasn't full, but the flavour is definitely on point! Love to visit again for the pancake!
These pancakes really took the cake But for real, these pancakes were phenomenal! FOOD: I’ve always wanted to try Larks of Joy’s pancakes but before this they only had Red Velvet pancakes but I have to admit, these Breakfast Pancakes are definitely more up my alley! I was extremely lucky and elated to know that when I went, their ice cream was one of my FAVOURITE things in the world - Peanut Butter Cup. I CANNOT rave about this ice cream enough. It has been maybe a year or more that I haven’t had that flavour of ice cream and having my favourite ice cream flavour on top of my favourite breakfast item just made for one of my favourite things I’ve had in Melbourne so far. Larks of Joy really do not skimp and make it bang for your buck! The ice cream was LOADED with peanut butter cups and super duper creamy, it was super decadent and they were so generous with their bacon as well! They were big cuts and I couldn’t even finish it! But it was one of the best cooked bacon I’ve ever had, it was super duper crispy which went phenomenally with the soft and fluffy pancakes. All the flavours went together magically and it was truly a well worth of calories and cash dish. I truly loved and enjoyed this dish to the very last bite. COFFEE: Their coffee was roasted really well and super nutty and together with the soy milk! I loved it! SERVICE: The service is absolutely fantastic! The minute I walked in, I was served with a smile and till the very end they made me feel super welcomed and they were just such a friendly and jolly crew that really brightens any day! Overall, I really loved Larks of Joy and am beyond glad I decided to make a trip and its as if they knew that this peanut butter crazed girl was here and had the PB Cup Ice Cream I cannot recommend the Breakfast Pancakes enough and their service definitely is a super duper big win! Thank you so much
A lovely cafe and great service. Food were delicious! Will definitely go back and try other dishes.
Well appointed cafe, with friendly and efficient staff. While the menu isn't vast, the food is excellent and beautifully presented. The combined flavours of the dishes are pure pleasure in the mouth. And the Bad Boy Chips are so good they're wicked!
Matcha was yummy! A little bit sweet and I had the tumeric latte which tasted like Chinese herbal medicine. The breakfast burger had bacon and eggs and avacado, great sauce too! My friend had chilli scramble, good size and we also added in the hash brown. Wasn't the killer hash brown we hoped for but still good nonetheless
We had a great time at Northcote STN! the waiters were super friendly and the food was delicious! I had the Pokè bowl and a snickers milkshake - totes recommend! The space has a great interior as well, so your eyes can roam around if you dont want to look at other people.. lol Most of the menu had spicy options as well, so if you love them spices - this is for you :
Good breakfast experience, the place was nice and well lit, staff were very friendly and went through the menu. Food was yummy, eggs were perfectly poached, coffee was good too, and not a long wait, they knew their stuff and nailed it.
Visited Larks of Joy a few months back which is located on busy High St in Northcote. This cafe has beautiful natural/earthy tones with a gorgeous shared window table decorated with plants My partner and I tried: - Baked eggs - Corn & Zucchini Fritters - Snickers smoothie - Matcha smoothie Loved the layout of this newly renovated cafe. Food was solid!!! Would visit again
Great cafe at Plaza end of Northcote. Busy at brunch/lunch on weekends but plenty of staff and tables to accommodate. Poached chicken with soba was nice and simple. Beef cheeks with poached eggs was delicious, larger serving would've been awesome. Peanutella drink was not as indulgent as it sounds. Baked eggs with rabbit, chorizo and polenta chips was wonderful comfort food.
