Lanyon is a historical homestead set in beautiful gardens. It is really interesting to see how people lived in the 19thC the furnishings and gardens are very interesting. Lovely quiet spot, great cafe and beautiful views over the hills. Loved this place.

Great historic property. Took the guided tour, man was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great way to spens a few hours browsing the property and buildings. Had morning tea at the cafe and was high quality.

A very historic pre-national capital old homestead set near the majestic Murrumbidgee River. Nearby Mt Tennett, named after a bushranger, is hard to miss. It seeps with early white settlement history once a key stop for the Kiandra gold rush fortune hunters. A refurbished cafe offers a delightful lunch or coffee and cake option set on the new terraces. They do need a bit more shade though. The interior homestead is beautifully restored. The gardens and trees make this a wonderfully relaxing location. So close to suburban Canberra but so far removed from the hustle.

Very beautiful landscape, and interesting historical place to visit, but if you are with someone with a walking frame or wheelchair not so good, no disability access or restrooms, and pathways are very deep soft gravel
