I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt an exception had to be made. The centre itself was fine and the receptionists nice, however I have never encountered such a poor experience from a registered doctor. I felt I didn’t get given any time to explain myself and the doctor kept referring to untrue explanations and overall unfounded claims about a number of things. There was a lack of assessment and left feeling quite dejected with no step forward to any diagnosis or treatment whatsoever, feeling worse about what I booked the consultation for rather than better. I would avoid in the future.

I've been to this clinic a few times, each time hoping the last was the exception. While I am sure not all the doctors are the same and a couple may be great, unfortunately I have never had a good experience with any of the three GPs I have seen. It has always been dismissive, arrogant and more interested in judging or belittling than listening. When asked a question, it's hard to get more than a few words in before being cut off. So glad I have moved practice to a different GP, as I have always had a good and respectful relationship with my previous GPs when I lived in other places. The bulk billing is not worth feeling so dismissed.

I have visited La Trobe Medical Centre multiple times over the past year and have seen most of the doctors there. In my experience, many consultations felt inefficient, with some doctors relying heavily on limited personal experience rather than thorough assessment. For routine cases like common colds, the approach often seemed procedural rather than patient-focused.nnHowever, Dr. Farid Alam was a notable exception. He was attentive, professional, and provided a much more reliable consultation.nnOverall, I would suggest being thoughtful in choosing which doctor to see at this clinic.

The first time I went, I had a very bad eye infection.  It was the long Easter weekend and just one day between was not a holiday.  I waited 2 hrs and still wasn't called, so I went home and made another booking. It was the 1st appointment for the day and I was seen immediately.  I was very happy with the care the doctor provided me including calling the optometrist for an urgent appointment.   I've since been back to the same doctor and hardly waited 10 minutes.  Great service from the reception to nurse Judi too.  I'm now changing to  this clinic.

Lady on the phone was so rude she couldn't bother to explain and hung up immediately after we provided the info needed. Not everyone's native language is English and if you are so miserable and hate us so much don't work at a clinic in a uni that values diversity of students. What a shame.
