Called in with our motorhome. Had trouble waking up the owner. But did not stay. Ladies toilets shut. So would have had to use mens. One toilet, urinal, and skungy looking shower in the men's bathroom. And so dirty looking. Left.

The place is incredibly run down. No basic maintenance appears to have been done on this place and vital items like sink plug, oven trays etc were missing. The pool was green and the playground a rusty pile of metal. It was very expensive for what it is. It is disappointing as I loved Putaruru and this motel is at the heart of the town and I found the cleaning staff to be absolutely lovely.

I would not recommend staying here. When we arrived, the toilet was extremely dirty with urine on the seat and stains left in the bowl, which was very unpleasant to see in a room that should have been cleaned before guests arrived.nnThere was also hair throughout the beds, which made it feel like the bedding had not been properly changed or cleaned.nnOn top of that, there was no hot water at all in our room during the stay. Considering we paid $180 for just one night, this felt very poor value for money.nnOverall, the cleanliness and lack of basic facilities were very disappointing.

Kitchen utensils all greasy and grimy. Sheets on bed looked unwashed room smelt gross. Sugar stuck to the bench electric fry pan still dirty had kai still in it microwave needed wiping out and shelf’s covered in dust and spider webs floors not vacuumed or mopped. Toilet floor sticky curtains stuck together. Not worth the $320 for 2 nights we payed and had to clean our own room wash the sheets and blankets as they had an unpleasant smell.

Wouldn’t recommend! Not worth 1 star, staff are abruptly rude and unwelcoming, rooms are full of dust and questionable dirty marks on the sheets. The shower & kitchen area had ants everywhere and the room smelt like something deceased. Not worth the price, Would rather sleep in my car!
