I can't comment on the camping aspect of this site, however I can thoroughly recommend it based on the natural scenery. We went for a day trip to the watering hole which is a short walk from the campsite, through a cave. The water was perfect for swimming in on the hot day we went, and there were plenty of places for jumping off rocks. These rocks have been jumped off for years and so a generally safe but always exercise caution and make sure your safe if you jump. It's also fun to try and swim through the current and then drift down to the rocks. Bring plenty of water and food with you and you can make a day of it. Just please take your rubbish back home with you and help protect our rivers and wild life.

This is a basic DOC campsite. $8 per adult and $4 per child. Such a tranquil atmosphere, with beautiful birdsong awaking one in the early hours of the morning. My kids loved the waterhole and jumping off the rocks into the waterfall. Totally worth it!

Beautiful secluded spot down a metal road. Fun for a day river swim. Our kids enjoyed the rocks.

Beautiful, natural, clean and safe site (watch your younger kids though, there are some areas with drops and there is a water stream along the site). DOC monitors the site. No alcohol allowed.

Beautiful setting. Take a walk along the old mine tracks. Stunning swimming holes in the river.
