Stunning place to go for a walk. There are several walking tracks to explore so you can easily kill a number of hours here taking in all the sights. Once you have finished walking, jump on into the river at the base of the carpark. In summertime the water is lovely and warm due to the water running between the sun baked rocks, that is if there hasn't been a storm in the few days beforehand.

Do the Windows Walk (loop) first and then the Tunnels Loop Walk which connects to the Windows Walk. Decent easy hike which will take about 2-2.5 hours in total. There are signs which are pretty clearly marked but the tracks do take some weird twists and turns. When you come out of the long rail tunnel you'll go over a short bridge. Make sure you take an immediate right at the end of the bridge to finish the Tunnels Loop track back to the carpark.

Really awesome place with great day walks and a very interesting history. Cool mining equipment on display. I'd highly recommend spending the whole day here it is great. Also there are many swimming spots to go to

Great place to visit for all the family. You can do short walks, longer walks or if you are keen, do a rail trail on your push bike. Interesting and detailed descriptions of the local history available.

The shafts in the mine are open to the public for free, it's pretty amazing to see how they mined for gold. Go into one of the shafts and turn your torch off! You won't see your fingers in front of your eyes. But you might see some glow worms if you are lucky!
