Like most other people that have a low star rating, I came in with my mother and the staff had very little interest in helping us. He obviously didn’t care what we had to say and walked away after we asked about the price. We had to go online to JBs website to check for the price ourselves and explained to him that the price on the tag was wrong. It felt like we were serving him! The rest of the team was just as belittling and arrogant as the first guy. The vibe of the store was just not the same as the other JB stores. Never coming back to this one again, what a nightmare it was to shop here.
I had a disappointing experience today at the JB Hi-Fi Nunawading HQ store.nnAs a customer planning to purchase all new appliances roughly $10K+ for my new home, I had carefully researched and selected the exact brands and models I needed online in advance. My plan was to visit a few major retailers, request a price for each item, and purchase everything from one store. It’s a practical, time-saving approach – after all, nobody’s money grows on trees.nnWhen I arrived at the store, I was warmly greeted by a white female staff member. I explained my intention and showed her the list of items on my laptop. She acknowledged it was a large order and said she would speak to the manager to see if a better deal could be offered. I asked if I could speak with the manager directly to go through the list together, but she said the manager was too busy and unavailable. I understood, so I handed her the list.nnAbout 15 minutes later, she returned with an overall quote , but when I asked for a breakdown or whether any specific items could be price matched, I was told flatly that JB Hi-Fi cannot provide the price for each item because JBHIFI doesn’t do individual price matches with other stores like the good guy or harvey norman or Bing Lee — it’s “store policy.” Instead, I was only given a total discounted price, take it or leave it. I found this approach both unhelpful and unnecessarily rigid.nnI can’t help but wonder — is this truly JB Hi-Fi’s national policy, or just how this particular store chooses to operate? Isn’t price matching one of JB Hi-Fi’s selling points? Or is it just a marketing slogan to make customers assume their prices are already the lowest, when in reality they might not be?nnWhat left the worst impression was the staff member’s tone when she returned. Her attitude was abrupt and dismissive, as if she was no longer interested in assisting me. She repeatedly cited the manager as the reason nothing could be negotiated further and basically told me, “If you want it, take it. If not, don’t bother.”nnFor a store that claims to value customers and price competitiveness, this was a frustrating and off-putting experience. I walked in ready to place a large order. I walked out feeling unwelcome and unheard.
Chinese people who come here to buy things should be careful, the staff here are not polite at all. I just want to understand the product clearly, they just say no, don't you understand it yourself? We also said that I need to know what parts are missing to buy this product, and they said that you can only see it after you pay. Then I wanted to pay, and he gave us a cold look. We kept smiling all the time
I’ve returned a couple of items to JB Hi-Fi Nunawading, and I was very impressed with their service. The staff professionally examined the products, confirmed they were faulty, and processed the refund immediately under warranty. The whole experience was smooth and hassle-free, and I appreciated their prompt and efficient handling of the situation. Excellent customer service!
Staff at JB are always amazingly helpful and nice, but the problem is that there’s simply never enough of them. Waited half an hour for some help with Mac’s. Asked multiple staff who called over their ear pieces for someone else to help before saying “someone will be over soon”. No one ever came. Walked out and into the Good Guys. Assisted immediately and walked out with a Mac 10 minutes later. JB, take notes.
