Great shout out for Laura McAllister. She has been amazing in managing both my properties in Brisbane. She is professional, transparent & super prompt in answering emails & calls. strongly recommend her to my Brisbane friends too. I wish there is someone like her, in Melbourne too.
Never understood how totally incompetent people find their way into a pretty important job: managing housing. In the past, I've rented through professional, respectful companies who follow protocol and are fair between owner and renter. I have nothing against renting as a body. But InvestRent are easily the worst agency I've had the displeasure of dealing with as a renter. They go through property managers like no other and don’t tell us. And they’ve all lacked tact, communication skills, and professionalism. We’ve had maintenance requests denied for no logical reason. We’ve been accused of not paying rent only for them to finally admit it was an admin issue on their end. We’ve had 3 routine inspections scheduled, and every single time they miraculously realise on the day that they don’t have keys to our apartment for some odd reason. Never any apologies, but they will bluntly tell us that we need to be there for the next inspection to let them in or that we should get keys cut for them. Seems odd to ask your tenants to run around and do your job for you. Found out they use an external company to do inspections, so I’m confused as to what their actual responsibilities are? The one occasion where they claimed they did have keys, they didn’t show up. And said that “their guy is running late and he’ll be there soon but not sure where he is”. Entering a premises outside of the stated time isn’t exactly correct but they didn’t seem too worried about any implications. If you find yourself having to rent from this company, I hope you get a competent property manager. But in the high chance you don’t, know your grounds as a tenant.
We started renting our house from InvestRent in the beginning of September 2022. We have rented previously through other management companies, and we have always had problems with the lack of communication and follow-up on maintenance requests. Whilst with these other property management companies we felt like there was no "importance" with our requests. One request being that the dishwasher was consistently leaking each time we used it, another was that the oven not heating up propery meaning we essentially had no OVEN for 6 + months and lets just say that no one came out to even inspect the issue with the oven. In another one of our properties the power outlets didn't work in the kitchen and wasn't fixed for over a week. Our Property Manager at the new house is Laura McAllister. All the communication between my partner, I and Laura has been excellent whether over the phone or via email. She replies immediately and our concerns always felt heard and understood. Laura was extremely helpful when we first signed our lease agreement in helping us find, set up and understand the TENANT app where we are able to see upcoming events such as when rent is due, inspections and lodge maintenance requests. When we first moved in we made a request for maintenance which we didnt know would be able to be completed straight away but the issue was inspected and the maintenance was completed that same week. Laura personally called and made sure that the maintenance could be scheduled on a day that suited me and the maintenance was completed within a timely manner and the trades that were used were professional and the work was completed excellently. We recently rescheduled our inspection date as everyone in our house has been sick and thought that this would be a problem. But Laura and her assistant Josh were able to reschedule the inspection and their communication with us about the new inspection date and time was flawless. We absolutely love our new rental and we LOVE our Property Manager Laura and her assistant Josh. I will continue to use InvestRent Management for future rentals and can not recommend them more highly for their excellent level of communication and professionalism.
InvestRent are easily the worst and most incompetent agency I’ve ever had to deal with. No communication, no inspections, they leave it up to the tenant to repair fixed items. I’m actually confused as to what their role is and what the owner pays them for? If you want your home looked after, I’d suggest going elsewhere.
Laura@yabonza has been the best agent I’ve ever dealt with! Like going out of her way to help me with my car spot, getting extra keys and checking in to make sure I’m comfortable all the time. I’m very pleased with all of her efforts!! I’d say she deserves a promotion but I wouldn’t want to give her away for any other agent. Thanks Laura!
Unable to get an inspection time correct on an advert, and when told it wasn't fixed. Told the person at the property I wasn't interested yet still got another email from them. Asked to unsubscribe - told it was done, yet another email & message from the company. These are the basics, how could anyone trust their property with these people!?
