Friendly Staff. This was a very practical, no frills stay. We had a 6am flight so wanted somewhere close and cheap to stay. Check in & parking was easy and we made our way to our rooms. It was was an easy after hours check out too. We found it very practical, but there are a few things that could be changed to improve the quality of the stay. It served its purpose and we got to the airport unrushed and on time.
This place is an over priced run down backpackers not a motel, they have signs in the room saying keep the bathroom door closed or the steam from the shower will set off the smoke alarm, however to avoid that they have clearly turned the hot water units to the shower down so low it doesn't even get Luke warm with only the hot tap on full and no cold at all.nthe water that comes out of the tiny sink is reasonably hot yet the shower is barely luke warm so a hot shower is not possible.nnSecondly you wouldn't want to use the toilet and need to do a number 2 as the full flush button doesn't work and even the half flush button barely does I was having to flush the toilet 3 or 4 times or there was urine still left in the bowl.nnThe rooms are so tiny there's nowhere to even put your luggage except in the completely useless bathroom. And they have nothing except a kettle and small t.v. if you want to use a toaster or microwave they don't come in your room you have to walk down the incredibly steep stairs to the so called communal kitchen.nnAnd there so called buffet breakfast is in a communal kitchen consists of 3 types of spreads for toast and 2 types of cereal which you have to make yourself there's also a pancake machine but not pancake mixture to make pancakes and again you would have to do it all yourself if there was.nnThe place has no elevator and really steep stairs so unless your Incredibly fit even going outside for some fresh air is painful and difficult.nnAnd you will need to go outside for fresh air as you can't open the window in the room the have it rigged so it will only open about a half an inch and therefore gets zero airflow.nnAgain the so called split system heater and air conditioner barely works and definitely won't give you warm air or cold air just something around the middle.nnThe only possible positive thing about our stay was the bed is reasonably comfortable, other than that I have nothing good to say about my experience at the ibis budget so called motel As I said at the start it's a backpackers not a motel.nnI not only would never stay there again I'd definitely never recommend anyone waste there money on this place I'm surprised council are even letting them operate as a builder with 30 years experience in the game this place is not up to current Australian building standards and should be forced by council to bring it up to code or close it down.
Staff always excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The location is great - close to the airport, easy walk to shops if needed. The breakfast room is very good. Frozen meal and snack options are available and a user friendly microwave oven available. The rooms are fresh and always very clean. The guest laundry on the ground floor is very handy, whether to iron a shirt or do laundry.
Booked this hotel as it seemed close to the Skypark and thought it would be a good distance to restaurants, shops and the shuttle bus. But there is actually a huge road you can’t get across and so takes at least a 40 min walk to get there. Also no other shops or restaurants nearby.nnThe hotel itself was ok but lots of small things needed repairing like the door handle to be bathroom and it needed a lick of paint.nnOther than that the staff were really friendly and great selection in the vending machine toiletries, meals and snacks. Just not worth the price to be closer to the airport.
Absolute bang for buck! Gorgeous little room & bathroom with fridge. No fan fair but cosy bed & great air con. Everything is a little uber away or Uber eats! Super close to airport so happy days! Would definitely stay again. Thanks team!
