Booked this hotel as it seemed close to the Skypark and thought it would be a good distance to restaurants, shops and the shuttle bus. But there is actually a huge road you can’t get across and so takes at least a 40 min walk to get there. Also no other shops or restaurants nearby.nnThe hotel itself was ok but lots of small things needed repairing like the door handle to be bathroom and it needed a lick of paint.nnOther than that the staff were really friendly and great selection in the vending machine toiletries, meals and snacks. Just not worth the price to be closer to the airport.
I had a very pleasant stay at ibis budget Brisbane Airport. The room was clean, well-maintained, and had everything I needed for a short stay. While it’s a budget hotel, it still offered good comfort and value for money. The bed was comfortable, and the space was quiet enough to get a good night’s rest.nnThe staff were very cooperative and went above and beyond to assist. I had an issue with my phone charger, and one of the staff members, a kind lady from the Solomon Islands, provided me with a charger, which I really appreciated.nnOverall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a simple, affordable, and convenient place to stay near the airport.
This was genuinely the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever checked into. We actually left immediately and did not stay the night after seeing the condition of the room.nThe walls were covered in grime and dirt, there were clumps of black hair throughout the room, and the bathroom floor was flooded with leaking toilet water. There were also cockroach droppings and an actual cockroach on the floor.nOutside, we saw at least 20 rats around the gardens, car park and surrounding areas. I’ve stayed in European backpacker hostels that were cleaner than this place.nThis cost us $189 for a midweek stay booked through Jetstar Hotels. I understand this is considered “budget” accommodation, but this was absolutely unacceptable. Ibis/Jetstar really need to do better with the properties they advertise and partner with.nDespite not staying at all, we were not offered any refund.
I have seen all the reviews and they have mentioned all my feelings for this hotel. I didn’t like it for a second. Room was very small the pillows were so uncomfortable, floor was not clean, toilet was not clean. Their was one bottle in the bathroom which says hand wash, body wash, shampoo everything in one bottle. It was very noisy and uncomfortable. I expected something better in $150 but it was not worth staying there. Also their was a weird smell in whole hotel. They didn’t even place a single water bottle in fridge. There were no toiletries like this is a basic thing. It was horrible experience overall.
In being an Accor member and knowing that Ibis is a subsidiary company, I was confident in my decision making. Therefore, my wife and I blindly booked an overnight room after returning late night from a long overseas holiday, it was only to reset for future road travel the following day and the location was ideal according to Google Maps for where we were heading. Having stayed at many hotels around the world, I have seen all shapes and sizes, good and bad, I am without bias and understand you get what you pay for, according to what country you are in.nI paid $171 for the room which in Australia should get you something, somewhat respectable and decent for just 1 night.nnUnfortunately, this hotel will now remain an embedded memory that will remain with me forever, for all the wrong reasons, words cannot explain how terrible and tired this hotel is. I have previously worked in resort and accommodation management and I understand the industry and business model. With that, I lay no blame on any staff there, I am sure they are doing their best with what they have to deal with.nnI can only imagine that this hotel was previously a medical ward or retirement home by design, the bathroom design and overall condition of the small room reminded me of aged care rooms I have seen. The overall condition is very tired and old, I am sure the cleaners might try their hardest but we didn’t even want to use the toilet or shower for the simple fear that it felt very uncomfortable, in having a sticky floor to walk around on in both rooms, we can’t imagine what could have caused that?nnNone of the TV channels on the tiny TV worked, all pixelated and unwatchable. Honestly speaking, we couldn’t have gotten out of there more quickly with not liking any aspect of our stay. The tap for the shower control literally fell off when I was showering with thongs on.nnI can’t fault the location as it is within 10 or 15 mins from the airport, that’s why we chose it.nnI have read previous reviews and can see compliments about the staff, I am sure they possibly are quite good at their jobs, we checked out early without any interaction and so can’t make any comment.nnAt what point do IBIS or Accor say, we need to bulldoze this place and build something that is acceptable to not only Australians but I imagine many tourists from overseas that crash there for the night after long flights like our own, I am honestly embarrassed as an Australian to see that this might be the first impression of Australia for some, Qld tourism should maybe step in, particularly with the Olympics coming up.
