Welcome to Holy Cross School’s Facebook page. We anticipate that this page will be a major information hub, allowing members of our school community to access information about school news, updates, celebrations, events and activities through a medium preferred by an increasing number of people.
In order for our Facebook page to be a useful, positive communication, there are conditions of usage that need to be articulated. Accessing and commenting on the Holy Cross School’s Facebook page indicates that you have read, understood and accepted the following Facebook Page Guidelines that are designed to inform of its appropriate use.
1. Facebook users are able to comment on the school's posts and events and on comments by other users. Users are not able to author a post of their own or load media such as video or photos.
2. Facebook requires everyone to be at least 13 years old before they can create an account. Creating an account with false information is a violation of Facebook terms. This includes accounts registered on the behalf of someone under 13. Our school Facebook page is intended for use by parents and other adults in our school community. We encourage parents to show and discuss our school page with their children and use our Facebook page as a role model for communication through social media.
3. Online behaviour must at all times demonstrate the ethics, morals and values of our Catholic Christian community and reflect a Christ-centred respect for the dignity of each person. We direct you to the Parent Code of Conduct on our website for further information.
4. We encourage you to provide feedback and comments, however we ask that you be respectful and contribute in a positive and constructive manner.
5. Our Facebook page is not the appropriate forum to air grievances. If you have a complaint or concern, please bring it to the school's attention by contacting the school directly, to ensure we are able to deal with the matter in an appropriate manner.
6. Should you need to contact the school regarding a specific matter, please do not send requests or messages via Facebook. If you need to contact the school, please speak to your child's teacher, call us directly on 4057 6920 or email: [email protected]
7. You may use names in posts when you wish to acknowledge someone's great work or contribution. We wish our Facebook page to be used to build spirit and for acknowledging the efforts and contributions of students publicly as we believe it goes a long way towards building a positive school and community. Where students are named, they must be referred to by their first name only. All in the school community must be mindful of student protection issues and whether media consent has been granted by parents/carers of the respective children.
8. As the page administrators, we reserve the right to remove any content which we deem to be in breach of these Facebook Page Guidelines. This includes discriminatory, illegal, obscene or misleading/fraudulent comments, spam or any content which may break intellectual property laws.
9. If you fail to comply with the Facebook Page Guidelines you may be restricted from using Holy Cross School’s Facebook Page.
