Would advise everyone to avoid booking in with Dr Yao, very dismissive attitude and incompetent practice. Her neglect to take seriously concerns of staff caring for a patient who came to her could have had fatal consequences were it not for a second opinion and then follow up demanding blood work to be done which is standard practice especially given patients history of heart issues. When blood tests came back required immediate transfer to hospital for surgery, despite Dr Yao advising it was probably just a little bit of lockdown unfitness causing inability to breath when walking and staff insisting it was hugely abnormal and sudden for this client to struggle in this way. Seen similar reviews indicating a pattern of neglectful practice, and that she doesn’t seem to be able to reflect on or improve her work which is worrying and disappointing.
I've been using this GP practice with my family my partner who is also currently pregnant, our toddler and myself since late 2019 and highly recommend their services: - Whoever is behind the reception is friendly and welcoming. - If you call for an appointment, and the reception is busy with other patients you can leave a call back message which is always being returned by the receptionist and my experience is really good eith this systm - Payments can be run directly through Southern Cross by the reception which is great because I don't have to deal with receipts etc - all been done by the receptionist which is great! - Nurses are very attentive and professional and they offer blood tests to be done in the GP pratctice too which saves you the hassle of driving to ie Westgate. Such a bonus! - The doctor, well... let me say I couldn't wish for a better doctor in the neighborhood! Personal, professional, understanding, knowing the family history, getting specific with whatever you're there for, asking the right questions, taking you serious !!, keeping notes up to date, prescriptions directly send to the pharmacy next door, or hospital referral letters being drafted while you wait, ... and I can go on, and on. We've recently all had Covid, and the doctor even called to check in during the weekend I think it was a Sunday. Which GP practise does that!? I am very pleased with the way the whole practice handles their business. I highly recommend this practice. It's my family practice and doctor that I wouldn't want to see any different.
Very efficient team. The receptionist Harry went out of his way to help me get an appointment ASAP which was very much needed. I’m very grateful for his professional and effective manner and Dr. Megala was very attentive and took her time to talk to me and listen to my concerns. She gave great medical advise and made me feel reassured. Overall I’m very happy with the service here.
DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC UNLESS YOU ENJOY RUDE, CONDESENDING RECEPTIONISTS. Had the unfortunate interaction with the extremely rude female receptionist others below have referred to. When you consider the receptionist is the point of contact for business you expect them to provide a warm and pleasant interaction as these interactions set the tone of what the rest of the business may be like. Instead I was rudely spoken to when I asked a simple enquiry which as you can guess left me in a foul mood. I would only hope that this female receptionist is not a reflection of how the nurses and doctors treat their patients but judging from the other reviews it may be the same for the rest of the employees. I HIGHLY recommend avoiding this place. There is nothing worse than people making your life difficult for no reason.
The doctor is good. However, the female asian reception doesn't make sense at all. I wait outside with a sick baby for 30 mins. No patient inside or waiting. I reminded her twice that she need to check if it's our turn.
My family have been visiting Dr Megala since we moved into the neighbourhood 4 years ago. We have to say she is the best GP we have experienced. Dr Megala is methodical and takes time to understand the issue. She always makes us feel reassured we feel we receive the best medical attention and advice - all with a genuinely kind and caring manner. Ruth the receptionist is always lovely and the nurse is thorough and handles everything with a smile - even covid testing! We are fortunate to have Dr Megala as our local GP. Highly recommended.
Absolutely unprofessional. Please do yourself a favour and find another doctor. The nurse is absolutely rude and the doctor spends 5mins checking you. We had a horrific experience where the doctor prescribed a higher than normal dose of antibiotics to our wee baby without even confirming with a throat swab first that led to him getting admitted in the hospital and it was a viral that did not need antibiotics. I kept ringing the nurse trying to get to the doctor because my son was not responding well and they kept dismissing me. All my other appointments before this experience have lasted 5-7mins max, doesn’t even bother getting to the bottom of the problem I am never going back to them!
The new young Chinese male receptionist Harry is very bad with the customer services. Completely no idea how to treat customer. Looks like he is kind to same Chinese people however, good luck with rest of people with other nationalities
Poor service today from nurse. Took all day from 8:30 am until 2:45pm to call back & advise if my son needed to see Gp or the nurse. Gave up & went to A & E as child was in alot of pain. Have had other issues with the current nurse over the last year.
Not too impressed. We went there before they were about to close, and thankfully the doctor agreed to see my partner. However, the doctor made an error in the prescription she printed, accidentally prescribing the wrong drug liquid instead of pill, and the dose was way too low. Luckily, we went the the pharmacy next door, and the chemist cared enough about us to point out this error. By this time, this clinic was closed, but they opened temporarily for us, just to correct the mistake. All's well that ends well, I guess, but if it wasn't for the kind chemist next door, we wouldn't have known we are taking the wrong medicine for days. I don't doubt the doctor's knowledge, but I definitely doubt her practice. If she had taken a second to read what she had printed, she would have realised her mistake. She also told my partner that she needs treatment for 3 weeks, but the prescribed drugs were only for 3 days. I think that's a failure to properly explain to the patient, so that they can take care of themselves afterwards. The staff here are nice and helpful, but I wouldn't entrust my life or the lives of my loved ones here.
