This hotel offers many 5 star touches, but falls short in other areas. Pros- The housekeeping staff blew me away! My room was meticulously cleaned and the housekeepers were so friendly, they even wrote me notes each day. The furnishing of the room were nice and the fire place was a great way to relax after spending the day exploring. Cons- Location! It's not in a desirable area. Located about 30 minutes from the heart of Queenstown. A taxi ranges $45-$56 to town. The hotel has a free shuttle, but it has limited time slots. The hotel really needs a shuttle departing every 15-30 minutes. There is a boat taxi, but it costs $10 and is a bit cold to take early in the AM or at night. There also isn't a variety to eat around the hotel within walking distance. They also charge $5 extra per meal for in-room dining.

Great hotel, fantastic room. Has a fire place which I'm sure gets used much more in the winter. The shower has 2 options, regular shower head & a ceiling shower & the floor was heated, awesome! Bed was clean and very comfy, I slept sound every night. The view of the end of the lake with the mountains in the background was amazing. Matt at the bar gave me some great suggestions of places to go in town. 15 minutes away by taxi or around 20 with the water taxi that has a fantastic view along the way.

We came here for our honeymoon and had a very lovely stay. We stayed in the relaxation room with a hot tub at the lake side and it was always clean and smelling fresh. The bathroom had a hot tub and a stand up shower with the option of a rain type shower head from the ceiling. The housekeeping did a fantastic job and left us with little towel animals of swans, elephants, and puppies. All staff were professional and nice. They have a hotel restaurant which we weren't satisfied with at all as the portions were too little for its price. They also have parking that gets full quickly and on our first day we had to park on the side of the road and walk downhill to our room. Overall, our stay in at this resort was a very good one :)

The location was nice with lots of amenities. We enjoyed being able to rent electric bikes and hopping right on a bike path. We very much enjoyed the free shuttle service into town as well. Breakfast was delicious as well. Our only complaint was there was a lack of communication somewhere and had to remind the hotel we had 3 people for breakfast and it was included (we booked through a travel agent and purchased breakfast with each place we stayed ahead of time).

Spent there a fantastic long weekend regardless the late winter, which was cold and very unstable. As Hilton members we got upgraded to a suite with lake views. First class concierge service and great cuisine. Very nice to ride water taxis to get to the town. The location is very close to the airport and not immediately adjacent Queenstown, but is set in such a naturally beautiful spot that it's a pleasure to walk around and enjoy the Lake Wakatipu banks away from the crowds.
