Rented a car for 24 hours here. Car was due back at 1:30 pm a day later. Returned the car a bit late at 1:59 pm according to the time on the car. There was no one attending the counter (top pulled down) and could only make use of the key return slot. After waiting more than a week to see no invoice and not seeing the security deposit falling off my credit card balance, I gave this location a call directly. Found out I was charged almost another $30 as they said I was 52 mins late dropping off the car which was not accurate whatsoever. I received an email from Nicole who works there telling me she was there at the time even though the counter was closed and said they recorded the correct time. I took huge offence as she was basically trying to call me a liar, and why did she not mention that she was supposedly at the counter the first time when I called? I felt that I got ripped off and they wanted to find any reason they could to charge me extra for the rental. I have rented with Hertz several times and have never had this sort of horrible experience. Yes, I was late by what I saw was only 29 minutes, and explained to them by email it was because I got lost given that I am not exactly from the area. They did not care as it has been more than a week since the last communication, and no one has contacted me back. I have been a little bit late beyond my control in the past by even more time at any other car rental company, and they exercised good old customer service and did not charge me extra as they were much more reasonable to deal with, and not trying to take me for everything they can get. Do yourself a favour and do not rent here...unless you are willing to pay everything they try throw at you in additional charges as per the other review even mentions.

Great rental place, had my car ready upon arrival. Rented from them a couple of times and the 2nd time there was an issue with their systems and they let me take the car while they fixed everything up! (They knew me from the previous rental). I went back a couple of hours later and it was all good. They could have easily told me to go away until their systems came back up.

Hi everyone,be sure to ask for ALL charges before you hire from this Hertz branch.I was told my cost would be approximately 350.00.A few days later my credit card statement showed I was up for 626.00..I finally received a copy of the itemised statement,all costs were plus gst,redgo recovery fee,admin fee,location fee and 30 cents per kilometre over the allowed 100 klms per day..None of this was explained in detail,and although possibly in the contract no one stands there and reads pages of jargon,I trusted them biggest mistake I made..Never again

Apparently our company now has a ban on using Hertz, I recently had two of my guys arrive in Broome at 5.40pm and supposedly picking up a car from Hertz which had been pre booked and the time on the booking was 5.40pm due to flight times. On arrival the Hertz car hire was closed. This made it very inconvenient as the guys had to visit various sites on company business. This was not the first time this happened with Hertz but at the time it was the only company who had a car available but then we didn't end up getting it so huge inconvenience in having to catch cabs to various sites
