Events Cinema is on the top floor and can be accessed via the escalator from the food court. The restrooms and food are located at the far corner of the top floor. The theater was clean and well-maintained.
I love this cinema and the staff. They're always friendly and kind to me and very respectful of my Veterans white card when I present it. Been coming here for years.
We had an initially average experience at Event Cinemas in Hornsby due to a few unexpected incidents that were beyond anyone's control. However, Nick from the management team stepped in and turned our outing into a fantastic one. His proactive approach and genuine understanding of people made all the difference. The cinema itself was clean, well-presented, and overall very good. Thanks again, Nick, for going above and beyond to ensure we had a great time.
Me and my boyfriend were watching a movie at Event Hornsby and half way through the movie an event worker approached us and asked to check our tickets. He only approached us and nobody else in the cinema but the strangest thing about this was the fact we had purchased tickets downstairs at the reception only an hour ago earlier. This has never happened to me before and I am confused as to why he approached only us.
I have been visiting Events Hornsby since they opened 20+ years ago. Every single visit has been outstanding - there would be hundreds of visits now over the years. The young lady with dyed blond hair who served us at the cafe counter today was without doubt the rudest employee I have ever encountered - ever. I was approached upstairs by the manager as apparently the young woman downstairs had not charged us for 2 x choc tops when we purchased out tickets. I put them up on the counter when buying tickets and presenting our vouchers. The woman did not say the amount I was tapping / paying for so I tapped without a thought to it. When I returned downstairs I was met with arrogance, attitude and aggression. She said VERY loudly : "ok so now you're going to pay for them, not just TAKE them!". I asked her if she was accusing me of trying to steal them. The smirk on her face said it all. Will never go back.
Watched 7:15pm session of Fallguy on 04/06/24 at ROCKHAMPTON Event Cinema Movie was great! However! After the slight annoyance of people on their phones in the cinema while the movie was going, 10mins before the movie ended the MANAGER started to go on HIS phone Infront of the cinema for all the people in the cinema to see?? then before the movie even finished they started to clean the cinema making it feel like i was being ushered out as fast as possible, THEN! before the main lights even came on they FLASHBANGED the cinema with the cleaning lights. Terrible Management here hope something changes if they read this review.
As of writing 18/04/24, avoid cinema 5. There is a loud buzzing noise coming from the speakers. Nearly bad enough to walk out. Sounds like youre near a flurescant light.
The cinemas could benefit from renovations. Upgrading their theaters would allow them to compete more effectively with other events from different areas, particularly those known for their high standards and cleanliness.
I made an online booking for beekeeper supposedly for Jan 31 Wednesday at 330pm but the confirmation is dated Jan 27, at 240pm today. I am so elated and happy that Molly and Madie solved the mistake and my problem. Both of them are very helpful, supportive, friendly and very professional. Madie and Molly are really a big credit to event cinema. I highly recommend this cinema to movie fanatics as long they have M&M around. Thank you M&M for your help, 5 thumbs up and stars for the job well done.
I’ve always enjoyed coming to Event Cinemas at Hornsby but it was my first time at their V Max theatre so that I could watch Star Wars on the bigger screen. The seats were very comfortable but the seat number lights were so bright. I thought it was dimmable once the movie started but it wasn’t and stayed that way throughout the movie. Took away from the V Max experience and made it hard to focus on the movie!! I had to put my mobile phone over it to shield my eyes from the light! Definitely won’t be paying extra for V Max at Hornsby until they’ve fixed this problem. On top of it all, the Choc Top I bought had a stale cone. Must have been in the fridge for quite some time. Disappointing evening despite the good movie.
