I have been shopping at Great Earth Health Food shops for over 20 years. They are definitely the cheapest health food shops in Melbourne. I have never had a problem with anything I have bought from them. I think they must really check things out before they sell them, to make sure their customers will be happy with their purchase. I suppose after 40 years they know what they are doing. They have a massive range, thousands of products with new things coming in all the time. Lots of vegan and gluten-free foods too. The service is great, always very friendly and patient with me and all my questions, they order things in for me if they don't stock it, and there is a naturopath there to help too. I travel 20 minutes, but it’s always worth it, because of how much $ I save. I can highly recommend them if you want the best products at the best prices, and great customer service.
If I had gone another day my rating would have been better. The products are fantastic and extensive as well as being competitively priced. In the main I've had terrific service when I've not gone in on a Thursday. The two woman who were in the shop lunch time today 7 August were unwelcoming, unpleasant and had no customer service abilities whatsoever. I'll give this place one more go not on a Thursday and if I get the same unpleasantness again I will take my business and money as I'm not afraid to spend when it comes to my health elsewhere.
I love visiting these guys. The ladies always make me feel super welcome and safe. Very knowledgeable and understanding and a great range of products. Highly recommend this store to anyone wanting to better their health. Keep up the great work ladies!
I have to say I'm very disappointed with the service and lack of knowledge at this store. I've been a Doncaster resident for many years and can honestly tell you that Great Earth is not as good as it once was. Not only have I experienced staff ignorance but they seem to always be out of stock of products. Would not recommend Great Earth to friends and family.
Every time I shop at the Tunstall store the girls are so friendly and I always feel cared for. They listen to what I need and their knowledge is brilliant . Always a happy customer here ! Thank you Jacinta, Alana snd team
The last I visited this store was about 3 years ago. I have to agree with other posters about the patronising, standoffish treatment both over the phone and in the store. Although, they do stock a wide variety of products at reasonable prices. Perhaps this is why the assistants think it's ok to project their anger onto customers when they' re having a bad day-which seemed to be often-hmmmm. I need to go there again today for something, so I hope their service has improved.
I can give this shop only one star. They have a wide range of products and the prices are reasonable. What is appalling in this shop is the customer service!! I used to be a regular visitor to this shop and the staff were friendly and courteous but lately the staff have changed and not for the better. The last two occasions I have visited this store I have received the rudest customer service that I can ever remember receiving. If you want to be treated in an abrasive, aggressive manner then this is the store to visit.

This is my #1 health food store. They have great variety, great brands, fantastic prices and lovely staff. Always there with a smile, a wealth of knowledge and helpful tips, the staff are what keep me coming back most of all. 10/10. Thank you!
I generally find these stores to have what I am looking for or if not they are able to obtain it quickly. The only problem is they are never quite spacious enough for me, but that is a purely subjective issue & I understand the cost of Melbourne Commercial Property :. I note that someone using the pseudonym of "Everyone" has written a rather vituperative review of the shop in Tunstall Square, Doncaster East. The review has multiple complaints in one scatter-gun statement so the real issue seems to be hidden. I do note and draw to the attention of others, that the tone used in "everyones" review is bullying and it makes a stealthy unwarranted attack on a staff person who has no ability to reply and who probably has no discretion in the matter of discounts. It therefore embodies only the worst features of the Internet with no positive contribution. I have never had a problem at this store or any of the others and I use it and some of the other "Great Earth" stores regularly. I do not make use of any discount card however, most discount cards are simple to understand and the same rules apply pretty much everywhere. A discount offered, by card or club membership is really an offer to reduce prices for those who meet qualifications which the store establishes, usually $ spent per annum or month that exceed a certain value, or in an airline the number of flights made, or in a theatre the number of performances or movie sessions attended. Whatever the qualifications, the discount offer is an offer to reduce price below the stores normal calculated retail price and it MUST be manageable and generate an audit trail of the number and value of discounts given. Without audit controls the stock could be amongst other things sold mistakenly or deliberately at "unreasonable" discounts or to customers who do not meet the criteria for discount offer; there are sufficient precedents for this to be well known in any sales business. To generate an audit trail most of these cards now have information on them that needs to go into a computer system. Typical information would be an identifying number, a start and expiry and maybe a few other things. In any busy store there may be thousands of these cards on current issue and the staff may well know the shopper in person, but they cannot remember all of the information held only on the card. This is why computer systems are now commonly used to check the expiry date of the offer against the card. If no card is presented even if the customer is well known, the system work-flow programming will usually not permit a discount to be offered irrespective of the desire,knowledge or otherwise of the sales assistant. Why is Expiry Date so important in most of these schemes? No discount offer can be perpetual. Costs,exchange rates and a whole lot of other variables will move in the period of a discount offer and may well reduce the discounted price of the item to far below the cost to acquire and shelve it. In the early days in retail and until quite recently deductions from a sales assistant's pay were made to recover the value of the discount where a discount was given when none was due. These are well lit and well presented stores that fill a very real community need by supplying goods that are unobtainable elsewhere and in my experience,they carry only good quality merchandise at prices that are typical and reasonable for the products sold.
