Beautiful site for a campground. I was even ok with the lack of decent facilities. You can expect a certain amount of roughing it while camping. However, the piss poor management completely ruined my first experience at this campground. A party of about roughly 100 people was allowed to rent out the place and apparently told they would be alone there. The owners or management then still bookings from other campers without telling them there would be a massive party held here. We were attempting to camp with a one year old and 6 year. Some partying can be expected at a campground which we were totally cool with. However, this group of people refused to listen to management and partied with a massive sound system set up until about 530 am with a complete disregard for other campers. Management was unable to control this group of people and we were unhappy we weren't told at the time of booking about this party. Had we known we would have gladly booked for a different weekend. If you'd like to stay here don't expect a noise curfew to be enforced or for other campers to have to even clean up after themselves after a massive night of drinking and doing drugs around your family. Definitely did not seem like family friendly facilities. My family and I will never return to this campground.

Great spot but terrible management. Hand soap in the toilets was never replenished, zip hot water in the kitchen never works, showers flooded. Cooking elements are useless. Worst of all was not told that a 40th birthday party had been booked while we were there. They had their own P.A system and a 12pm curfew! The management told them once to turn down the music wand then disappeared. The party and the very loud music continued till 530am. Do not recommend. Although given a refund for one night terrible experience and will not return.

Great place have been here with a couple of mates a few times. Its a campground and not a hotel so the facilities provided are amazing. The open fire at night also allowed for some great yarns with fellow campers. Overall would recommend highly.

A bit rundown. Toilets were blocked the first night, showers were iffy. All this was better the 2nd night. Oh, and one of the fridges in the main kitchen was broken down

We bought a camper van to use during our three month's stay in New Zealand. Of all the trips we did, Goat Island campsite was the worst of all and the most expensive. At $27.50 per adult, they offered badly maintained facilities with not hot water and no-one in the office to answer queries. When I found someone who was doing cleaning or maintenance, I was told that they had run out of gas but no apology was offered or refund of any sort. We left after one night. They are obviously exploiting the fact that they are in a strategic position.
