What an interesting morning. The Kauri bushmen were very knowledgeable and helpful.  The boardwalk through the bush is delightful.  Highly recommended .

Interesting place, you can meet 800 years old  Kauri and rimu trees. The walk is only taking 10-15mins but you would feel like you are in the deep forest. 
Outside, interesting buildings show old jail, toilet, post office etc. 
quick stop but enjoyed a lot.

Take the time to stroll around the park and down to the viewing platform. There is a giant bird feeder that given the right time of day could be filled with birds 🐦 feasting on apples. There's the massive Kauri at the entrance but also some stunning tall ones as you walk around. Check out the 20 meter high Nikau Palms as well.

It's a nice place to walk around and they have a foot bath now for anyone to use.

Nice easy walk around a lovely Kauri forest the 800 year tree was impressive. Well signposted tree names.
