Really old hotel that has been allowed to fall into a state of disrepair. Very dated furniture, poor maintenance (window was propped up with a cushion). I slept very poorly- the walls between the rooms were so thin that I could hear the people in the next room snoring, the floors squeaked and the heavy doors on the rooms banged and squealed every time they were opened. It's a shame- with some effort and money this hotel could be a real attraction in the local area. Breakfast was also poor- I wasn't expecting much but all the water for tea/coffee was gone and most of the items had been depleted by other guests very quickly, even though I went down early. Things were not replaced and I could not find anyone to request topping them up. Unfortunately I was glad to leave, however I would love to come back if it ever gets renovated- there are lots of beautiful features on the facade on the building (ironwork and stained glass) and I bet it has lots of history although sadly no information was given.

The stuff are really nice. It’s an historic hotel. The bar is really good, good food, pool teable. Everything is very clean. Nice breakfast.

This hotel is a historic building, quite exciting for me. The interior design makes me think of some ghost movies, so I think this place is great for people who want to explore.Rooms and toilets are quite clean, and staff is very friendly and nice. The pity is the toilets are shared(gentlemen’s and ladies are separated), and the sound isolation is not that good.

Wondered what we would find for the budget price but on arrival found the staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and beds very comfortable. We had a pleasant stay at the Gladstone.
