Pies are hot and good, and dessert too. We ordered seafood platter 3 pies and 2 cakes, they are Pork Belly, Mince and cheese and bacon Salmon. My favourite is Salmon and Hubby likes the Mince the most. But they all taste good and lots of fillings. We also have Red velvet cake which is moist and cream cheese topping incredible, goes so well with the cake. Also the American Donut is sugar coated and crumbs on top, hubby is American and he definitely approve this one! We recommend everything here and certainly will be back.
We stopped here on our way to Christchurch and did not disappoint! My partner and I shared the smoked salmon and cheese pie and filled us. They are very filling and can be quite messy but absolutely delicious!nThere is usually a long line out the door but it moves pretty fast.
Great pies - nothing like other pies we tried all around. Very good tasty sauces inside the pies. Sweet pies also great - nothing overly sweet. Don’t get scared of the long line - it moves pretty quickly. Also, there is a second line for ice cream - but you can order pies there too :. That line is a bit further away from the street so it is shorter : Outdoor sitting and bathroom available. Great coffee too.
Fantastic, delicious pies and probably the best coffee I’ve had in the South Island.nSalmon pie was my favourite.nService was quick and very friendly.nPlenty of tables indoors and outdoors. Was lucky to have very good weather when I was there and had a wonderful mid drive break eating their lovely pies outdoors.
Definitely worth a short drive from Tekapo to get the pie. There was a line to get the pie around 10.30 on Easter Sunday but didn't take long approx 10 mins. The pie met my expectation—crispy pie crust with succulent roast pork belly and sweet and tangy apple sauce filling. Will come back again one day!
