We had a short stay 1 night while on a road trip. The location was easily accessible and close to the main road. Our two-bedroom unit, along with the living room, kitchen, and bathroom, was surprisingly spacious for a motel. Everything was clean and tidy, making our stay comfortable. There were some limitations on high-aromatic cooking in the kitchen, but that seemed reasonable. Overall, we had no complaints and would recommend it!
We arrived late in the hope of a room to stay after having a day in at the mountains. It was no trouble for Anne and she directed us to a lovely warm, cosy and spacious room. We loved our stay. It was only one night, but we would stay again, when in Fairlie. The kitchen area was just what was needed as were the shower and bathroom facilities. This family run motel is highly recommended.
My family stayed here two weeks ago and I honestly can’t think of anything else that could have made it better. The rooms were extremely tidy and provided lots of material about Aorangi Motel as well as recommendations for places to eat, visit, and anything else that you might need to know about Fairlie which made it feel quite homely and cared for. They had a laundry room which as far as I could tell was free but I’m not certain and it said online that they had microwaves but we couldn’t find them but we didn't need one either so we didn’t really look that hard either so we may have missed it. When we left I ended up accidentally leaving a shirt behind inside the bedding, but when we contacted them they posted it to us the following morning for free, which was extremely kind of them. If anyone I know is travelling through Fairlie I will whole heartedly recommend Aorangi Motel to them as it was a great place to stay.
What an absolute surprise! We were expecting a basic motel with little to offer. What we got were super soft towels such a luxury in NZ, a very spacious living area I did a full body workout with weights as well as a kitchenette with enough equipment for us to make a pretty decent meal. We only stayed one night but with the bakery down the street & things explore in the area, we’ll be back. Oh! And the bed was pretty good. I chose the firmest one though. A delightful place!
Very clean, while a little dated, served our purposes very well.nHeated floor in the kitchen and bathroom an unexpected bonus. Very much appreciated.
