Amazing experience and definitely something special! You need to make a booking beforehand but the process is extremely seamless and efficient. Once you’ve got a booking secured, the day before, they’ll send you a text with the lunch menu so you can choose your order before you even arrive that is if you have lunch as part of your experience. Upon walking into the unsuspecting building, you’re greeted by the soft scent of the incense, antique style statues and wooden cabinets containing various spa products. The ladies at the front ask you a few questions and take down your details to make sure the treatments are right and safe for you. Then, you’re lead on a tour of the area and shown to the bathrooms. You get your own locker to store your belongings, and you’re provided a robe, towel and slippers to use around the spa. The famous spa / thermal baths have a variety of features all aimed at relaxing the body. You get one hour in the baths before you’re called for the next part of your treatment. We opted for the massage treatment, so we were led to the waiting area/lobby. Here, there were cups of fruit and water available as refreshments, while you waited for the massage therapists. The massage itself was decently relaxing. Personally, I’m not a big fan of massages so I could have gone without it. However, they were quite professional and friendly for the most part - would have been a bit nicer if they talked a bit more or explained what they were doing. Finally, we had the lunch. The eating area was like a garden from a movie, and was very nice also because the weather. The lady who served us was extremely friendly and had amazing service skills best of the whole spa. We were able to choose a drink of our choice from wines and champagnes, to coffees, to juices. The chai lattes were amazing and came with a cute little cookie too. The lunch dishes we ordered were the pan roasted ocean trout with tomato couscous and king prawns, and the pasta caprese buffalo milk ravioli. Both dishes were presented beautifully and cooked well - we thoroughly enjoyed them and had no qualms except that we wish there was more! For dessert, we got the mon Cheri and buttermilk panna cotta. Again, both dishes were great. The mon Cheri was definitely more rich and may have been a bit too much for a person who isn’t a huge fan of chocolate. But both were still very nice. Overall, it was a great experience. It is pretty costly to come here, but if you can, would definitely recommend a day here just to relax and enjoy yourself! Only thing is- I don’t really know whether they have parking for the spa. The street parking was relatively limited when we came and there is a shopping complex nearby but that’s limited to two hours!
Loved this place. If you want a lovely day out with the girls or a lovely lunch with a pool session then this is the place to come! I was given a gift voucher for here for my birthday and I LOVED it! It was so lovely coming here. I had a massage with Ashleigh and she was amazing so if you want a great massage see her! I will 100% be back!
I recently had my 3rd visit to Gillian Adams, but unlike previous times, I am uncertain as to whether I will return. I sent the following as feedback in an email to the Gillian Adams team 2 weeks ago, but have received no response, despite it being the email address they direct you to as a means of contacting them. 'I had a pleasant facial with a friendly and knowledgeable beautician. We spoke about my skin concerns prior to the treatment and once she started massaging my face, she recommended a certain treatment ‘at extra cost’ in order to truly benefit my specific skin needs. I agreed and did not question this exact extra cost as I believed that if that was a substantial amount it would be openly disclosed prior to commencement of treatment. Unfortunately, much to my surprise, when paying the bill I found that I had paid an additional $50 for the mask and also $180 for a serum. This was rather devastating for me as I showered straight after the treatment due to knotted hair from the scalp massages I had received throughout the day. Had I known that $230 would be described as mildly as ‘extra cost’, I would not have agreed to this treatment. Perhaps in the future your beauticians can disclose these amounts to clients prior to treatment, as I was in a blissful state post massage and did not think clearly enough to question.' I have been disappointed at the lack of response from the Spa, but also the more I have shared this situation with friends, I feel somewhat taken advantage of where costings are concerned. I am aware this is a luxurious and costly experience, and perhaps some clientele would not bat an eyelid at that extra charge, however that is quite substantial for me and has been a shock to myself and those that I have discussed it with.
My husband and I had a couples experience booked today and we had such an amazing time. Amber the receptionist was very welcoming and took her time to show us around. The pool and steam room were great and our massages were UNREAL We loved the whole vibe of the place and we will definitely be back. Love, Taylor & Andrew x
Didn't rush us. Food was incredible, spa and steam room were amazing. Loved the whole experience including massage and facial. Best surprise birthday present for my girlfriend... she had the best birthday ever apparently!!!
It's been a while since my last visit, it was an amazing experience. And I still remember my therapist Kora. She is more than just professional. Her caring is one of the quality rarely to find in SPAs nowadays. I really recommend her. Thank you KORA!!!!!!
Loved my experience on both occasions. I have the salon visited separately for my skin and hair and saw remarkable results. Definitely will return!
I went for a vitamin c facial which is 50 mins, the beauty therapist Rebecca I think said I should do a peel and uv light therapy on top of the vitamin c facial! So she cleaned my skin, then she put the peel on, cleaned my skin, then she put the light therapy on, I got a head massage while the peel was on, both arms massaged while the uv light was on, then she dabbed my skin with two types of moisturiser and then I was done within 45 mins! they charged me for the peel, uv light and the facials but facial only consisted of a clean and two dabs of moisturisers all done in 45 mins! How does this work? $230 for a clean and two moisturisers? Absolute rip off and utterly disappointed
