Chi The Spa at Shangri-La Hotel Sydney

Not a great experience and in my personal opinion, not worth the $180 spent. I requested for the masseuse to go firmer but she simply advised that she would only be able to do so after her "set sequence". Once her set sequence was up, I requested for her once more to go firmer, however it honestly felt like she made zero to no effort to actually use more pressure. I would like to add that I am of a slight build (Asian female frame) and usually have to request for the masseuse at other spas to go lighter on the pressure. I likened the entire massage to a someone lackadaisically rubbing marinade over a chicken. My impressions of the masseuse's disinterest in her job was confirmed when I kindly requested her to increase the pressure (for the 3rd time), to her responding "Mm" with no change in pressure. I would also like to add that while you pay $180 for a message, you do not even get to use the in-room shower and I was hurried out after my massage to make room for the next customer. My two girlfriends who came with me also had the same instructions from their masseuse . I have gone for many other auromatheraphy massages, but have never left feeling so dissatisfied, and with same sore muscles I arrived with (obviously the rubbing of oil up and down my body did nothing for me). One last thing - as a piece of constructive criticism, the establishment might want to look into changing the rough terry cloth towels that line the edges of the "face-hole" in the massage table. I left with deep towel imprints all over my face (which has never happened before in other places because smooth towels were always used instead). All in all, would not go again.

Great spa. We go as a couple, our benchmark is a 1 hour full body massage. Have been to the Hilton spa as well, this place is a bit more expensive ($350 vs $250 for the 2 of us) but the facilities are much nicer. Both spas come with access to the associated Gym and pool facilities, but everything here is just a little bit nicer

Enjoyes the experience. My energy worker was very insightful - something I didn't expect. Would recommend a visit.
