Ah, this is a special place. Very special.nnDelicious food, generous food, affordable food, filling food served efficiently and with care.nnThere was many people queueing however we only took 20 odd minutes to be seated.nnThe pace is down to how fast people eat, Genkotsu do make it fast by having the meal at the table very shortly after sitting down.nnI had the shoyu ramen with extra sho-chu. It was delicious indeed.
Hidden gemnThis small ramen outlet hidden in the back of an arcade in busy Toowong had all the authentic vibes — queueing at the door, ordering from the ticket machine, sitting at the counter, and watching the ramen chefs weave their magic. The service was efficent and friendly, the ramen was delicious and the prices were reasonable. It was a great reminder of our time in Japan.
The wait is sooo worth it! Although it did take a while to get inside, it wasn't surprising given the popularity + I went on a Friday night. Many of the bowl options are under $20, and they are flexible with customizations. The atmosphere was so reminiscent of Japan and is making me so excited for our upcoming trip! As for the ramen, the broth was absolutely delicious, the toppings were great, noodles had the right bite, and you can ask for free extra noodles! The staff were lovely and I would 100% go back!!!
Very authentic feel, liked the noodle bar style seating, but be ready for quite a wait. Karrage was fantatsic and overall the ramen was very solid. Would come again!nnWe ordered the black garlic and eel ramen
Absolute hidden gem in the City. Makes you feel like you went to Japan for a bit. Ramen is elite tier, the best I had in Australia so far. And the atmosphere is wonderful.
