Went with a mate - the machine at the front you order from is very easy to use.nRamen has great depth of flavour , could say maybe a little salty. Would try the less salty version next time.nI got spicy - which could have been amped up a bit. But I’m being picky.nKaedama is awesome and unlimited so if you’re super hungry you could go crazy.nKaraage chicken came out super hot and crispy.nGyoza is decent flavour and cooked fresh toonStaff were very friendly.nWill go back soon
I arrived at Genkotsu Ramen at Lunch Time. Before you enter, you order your food at the ordering machine.nnThe restaurant is hidden, a 2min walk from Toowong Shopping Centre. It was small and busy with limited seats but as a solo eater, I found an available wooden bench quickly at the counter, watching the kitchen staff cock. It wasn't the most comfortable but it worked.nnFrom the moment I sat down to receiving my food, it took around 10min.nnI ordered the Wagyu Beef Sukiyaki Ramen with ShioSalt broth, 2 extra pieces of Cha-shu Pork and Grape Calpis Water.nnThe Wagyu wasn't the high quality beef you hear about but it was still good as a lot of the flavour came from the marinade. The noodles were thin but absorbed the broth really well. The Cha-Shu was thin and fatty, it melted in my mouth and had that smoky after taste from the blow torch.nnOverall it was fulfilling meal. Once you finish your meal, you return the bowl to the left side of the counter so they can quickly clean them.nnI wished I knew about the UnagiEel ramen beforehand and the Nori chips were unfortunately sold out as I would have loved to try those. Overall, I enjoyed my $30 meal and will definitely return in the future.
I love this place so much. It is my go to everytime when craving a ramen fix. Note that because of its popularity you do get a bit of a line, but the turnover is pretty quick and worth the wait. They also offer free extra noodles. They have a kiosk outside the establishment for ordering and once they have a seat available of your food is ready they'll call your number. They used to offer cash payment but not anymore. I'm not too sure but you can pay at kiosk and inside as well. Vibes are authentic. Staff lovely with a smile
Rated 4.7. I've visited several times over the past few years. The ramen is authentic and tasty. You can also get extra noodles for free. The restaurant can get busy, but once seated the food is usually served fairly quickly.
Place was very busy so didn't mind the wait outside, lady who let us inside was very nice and food came out very very quickly! Ramen was spectacular and gyoza and fried chicken was excellent, I haven't tried curry fries before but they definitely rocked! Overall great experience! Will be back
