Bought this 2004 prado from Chris. It was as described and very well priced. Having had the car for 2 weeks now I’ve found no fault with it. Easiest purchase I’ve ever made. Would highly recommend these guys.
I bought a 30K vehicle here, supposedly 'goes like new, nothing to spend' etc. It broke down the second time I drove it. Turns out it had many issues. I was EIGHT MONTHS with no vehicle and Chris promising to get it going, or give me a refund or even return calls. Eventually I got a refund. Also, I was only given half of the promised amount for my trade-in. Beware!
Do yourself a favour and don't buy a car here! I purchased a car from Chris recently and had problems from the very first night, they "fixed" it shortly after and next day was still having problems. Took it then to independent mechanic and he found they had done that much dodgy stuff just so the car could drive but had thousands of dollars of pre existing problems. Obviously they got their own mechanic to do a dodgy RWC on it. I hadn't even had the car 3 months. Save yourself the stress and don't buy at starr motors!
Stay away, Purchased car from here, within 2 days the belts started to squeal, car also has significant oil leak and when I asked about warranty Chris was not interestd in fixing the issues or having his mechanic take a look. Seems the old habits of this yard are returning
I live in Hastings, purchased an old ute online through Chris. He had it delivered to my front door within days. A few issues with the vehicle, spoke to Chris again, he had it sorted straight away. Overall positive experience. Thumbs up. Thanks Chris.
I saw these negative reviews and it turned out they were about the previous owner. Unfortunately with google they are still there. PLEASE DISREGARD THEM I Contacted Chris Cameron abt a car from Carsales. Very communicative and honest, organised rwc etc and even a few bucks for my old car, cars a gem. I believe that the previous owner of the business was not as honest as Chris and Chris is now paying that price for their bad work I STAND BY CHRIS CAMERON as a good man.
I purchased a car worth $9,000 dollars on the 24/11/2021. In the ten weeks since, I have had to spend $7,000 in repairs. These repairs included replacing the radiator, hoses, valve gaskets and now, an entire engine rebuild due to damage caused by previous problems and a faulty head gasket. During the initial $2,000 repairs I contacted Geelong Starr Motors who were less than helpful. They refused to have anything to do with the situation unless their mechanics were the one to fix it. My mechanic was confident that the issues I am facing with this car were present before I purchased it. So, naturally I did not feel comfortable leaving the repairs in the hands of the mechanic who processed the road worthy.
I purchased a car from Starr Motors in December 2021. This was not a cheap purchase but I put my faith in this business to deliver a sound roadworthy car to my family with 3 young children. It was not but 3 days later that trouble started with the auto gear box rendering the car not 100% drivable. I contacted Chris at the car yard as soon as business opened after the Christmas period who ensured me things would be fixed. It is now over a month later and I've had to contact consumer affairs about the issue as Chris is rejecting my phone calls...to top it off the car roof is now leaking. I am not mechanically minded but I have had many experts look at the car at my expense to diagnose very costly issues. To say I am disappointed is an understatement...I am devastated that my family car is not the dream car I thought I was taking possession of...I definitely do not recommend this business but warn others who wish to purchase a car to steer clear from these guys.
Fantastic service! Highly recommend the guys at Starr Motors. We bought our Rav 4 from them and they did not disappoint. Not only did they provide great insight into the car we decided to buy, but they also helped us out with a service it required. Couldn’t recommend them more highly, thanks guys!
WARNING. Be very careful before buying a car from this yard. I purchased a car from them which came with a 3 month warranty on all engine faults and repairs. Guess what the owner doesn't honour the warranty. My cars check engine warning light came on while it was still under warranty, the owner told me to take it to his mechanic and he'd pay for the repairs so I did. The mechanic put in new ignition coils and spark plugs to fix the problem. When I went to pick up the car the mechanic told me that the car yard owner refuses to pay for the repairs and i couldn't take my car home until someone paid the invoice. I rang the owner he became very irrate and still refused to pay and hung up on me. I ended up paying almost $470 to the mechanic from my own pocket. Avoid avoid,avoid. If I could give zero stars I would.
