Called in on speck to get a single room for the night. The room was quite comfy with all that I needed and a bathroom directly across the hallway.Clean, tidy, well presented. The amenities at the pub are very good with adequate parking, beer garden, large back deck, a kitchen delivering prompt substantial satisfactory meals, but the building itself is steeped in history and beautiful decoration typical of the deco era. The story of the Tooth's & Reschs Co. literally oozes from the well adorned walls within the bar with genuine Rousell posters from the time securely protected behind toughened glass, whilst the hidden gems in the magnificent formal dining hall collate the development of the beer industry giants. Truly a place for the beer enthusiast and historian. This place could be described as a living museum, but it also has a soul that flickers beyond that. The hotel would be nothing if not for the charm of the 4 lovely young attentive ladies who worked so diligently all evening to ensure their patrons hospitality needs were catered for. I would loved to have stayed for another night, but I will definitely return, soon I hope!
Dropped in here to eat after walking the 6 foot track. We were wet, cold and hungry. The staff were really friendly and efficient. The food was tasty and filling.
Perfect location to discover the hikes around the area. 1 min from train station. I could leave things and go directly. Restaurant looks really good and is warm. Typical British atmosphere. Super clean room btw
This is our Go-To for a train day-trip to the Blue Mountains in winter. On arrival we were invited by some locals to share the gas-fuelled fireplace. We gratefully accepted. There's plenty of seating & two fireplaces to warm up near in the main bar.nWe chose Beef Pot Pies for our lunch @ $26 ea & large servings nThe railway station is only 250m from the Inn door & there's an inviting waiting room at the station.
Dropped in for lunch on way through Blackheath. Great menu lots to choose from. Reasonably priced, lot on the plate. Quick service, friendly staff. Clean amenities. Not too noisey.nLog fire appreciated on cooler day.
