We had a really special lunch at Forest Lake Tavern recently, after discovering my mum’s biological father and extended family. It was the first time meeting my grandfather and two of his daughters, so we wanted somewhere relaxed and familiar to catch up before their big family reunion.nnWe picked FL Tavern because it’s close to my parents’ place, was a bit of a local favourite when we were growing up, and it was convenient for one of his daughters too.nnEverything about the day was great. We were shown to our table straight away, it was warm and comfortable inside, and not too busy which was perfect. Drinks came out quickly, and the food didn’t take long at all.nnWe ordered a few things, but the shared pork belly platter was the highlight. We were honestly shocked by how much food came out — amazing value and it tasted fantastic.nnOur three-year-old also loved the playground, which made things even easier for us to sit and chat properly.nnEveryone left full, happy, and feeling good about the whole experience. Couldn’t have picked a better spot. Highly recommend.

Great Tavern in all respects. Opposite Forest Lake shopping centre. This is my number 1 in the area. I pop in regular to play keno. Get free coffee or soft drink. Free cookies, cakes or biscuits also. The staff are very friendly. The venue is very spacious. The gaming room is where I choose to play keno and it is so comfy.  Made a number of friends there.

Hubby and I stopped here for my birthday dinner. Most of the staff was friendly except for one person. The food was good. I had the lamb cutlet and hubby had carbonara and I had a blue lagoon drink and dessert was a crepe Suzette.

Came in for lunch Mon 7/7/25 - was pleasantly surprised! I was expecting just a “typical” tavern feed where it’s good enough to satisfy but I can honestly say it was noticeably a great experience - the chicken schnitzel was beautiful; good portion size too. Mushroom sauce & mash were also delicious. Super quick service + friendly staff. The bathroom was extremely clean too - great experience!

We had an amazing experience at Forest Lake Tavern while celebrating my daughter’s 9th birthday on 12.07.2025. The hospitality was exceptional, the food absolutely delicious, and the service top-notch. A special thanks to the lovely Functions Manager who made the planning process smooth and stress-free. Everything went perfectly—highly recommended for any special occasion!nThe function room was spacious, clean, and beautifully set up, with the convenience of enclosed restrooms and easy access to the bar. Everything we needed was right there.nnI’m actively marketing this venue within my Kenyan community, and you can expect some great business coming your way. Highly recommend Forest Lake Tavern for any special occasion!
