Fiction is Brisbane's best kept waterfront secret. Located in the Raby Bay Harbour Marina only 35 minutes from the Brisbane CBD, Fiction is Cleveland's first gastrobar with a fantastic selection of fine wine, craft beer and cocktails to match.

Story

Fiction uses on the freshest and finest seasonal ingredients on its gastrobar menu. Our menu extends further than our dining room, as we also have a 140 guest function room which is the perfect space for us to host your corporate event, birthday, engagement or wedding. Our dedicated function team can act as your function planners, from "go" to "whoa". We will endeavour to fulfill every request and to guide you through your special day. We aim to make every event something to remember.

Wanted somewhere nice to eat a late dinner as of work. Looked online and FrictionBar was one of the very few places that were open late enough. It says online that it is open until 12AM. Got there and to our surprise we were greeted with sorry we aren't serving and the doors being shut automatically. It was 10PM. Very disappointed. Maccas it is.

Service was slow even though it wasn’t busy... the “cape grim” rump my partner and I had today was the most tasteless piece of meat I’ve ever eaten. Not sure it’s the chefs fault but I doubt it came from cape grim given the lack of taste and the amount of fat. The mushroom gravy again was tasteless and watery. Regretted my menu choice. Great location but left disappointed.

I was there on Saturday for lunch with friends but unfortunately we left very disappointed. The food was really good, great value for money, aside from the extra charge for aioli!
The service was what let them down, they were under staffed for the time of day. We were seated at our table for 15mins without even a drop of water, I had to go up to the bar to order drinks and was stood waiting for another 5mins whilst 3 staff walked past me indicating someone else would serve me.  Eventually I got my drinks and requested for someone to take our meal orders, this again took another 5mins.
Definitely room for improvement, but a great location and good food.

Really nice restaurant and seating area, the food was amazing! Loved the sweet potato fries ❤️ could be 5 star if our first waiter actually brought us out water instead of us having to ask someone else... dying in the 30 degree heat.

A bit pricey for what you get but nothing to worry about. Read a few people say the food was not up to standard but haven't had that experience, been good each time we've visited. Staff also have been what you would expect in a place like this.
