Breakfast at Essence was an absolute pleasure. The service was top class and the food even better! We were shown to our table which was by the front window and were treated like royalty, The breakfast and presumably all day restaurant for marriott. Just like the hotel, a simple 4 star set-up being vegetarian, was very limited, but chief chef made my day preparing fantastic Indian cottage curry with Indian bread .. it was so delicious..!! Thank you Mr David..
Decent buffet breakfast. Food was fresh, service was pretty good, but the $35 price per person is steep to say the least.
Standard fanfare buffett breakfast with all the usual trimmings both hot and cold. Booked for family of 5 and got a nice big seating arrangement. If i could suggest maybe just having crispy rasher bacon instead of shoulder bacon, as the price is slightly high. Excellent service as we all were well tendered too.Food: 4/5
Essence has always been an amazing place to dine. Staff members are so welcoming and they always ensure that you leave with a smile! Good food, excellent service and great attention to detail!
Food was disappointing. Lacked flavour. Small servings main meal for price . White wine by the glass was not sufficiently chilled. Seating was comfortable but floor is badly scratched. Seemed understaffed so service was patchy. Meals did come out quickly though.
Went for high tea with a group of girlfriends. Atmosphere was nice but high tea food was very average, not what I expected of a 5 star hotel. The savoury food were especially not tasty and below average. Would not recommend for high tea unless they change their food offering. Service was okay but not thorough enough and they claimed to have run out of their bloom teas..
If I could give this experience negative stars, I would. It is the WORST high tea experience, I've seen in my life. When we first entered, they didn't bother coming to us, we had to get their attention. The table we sat in was not clean. Then they brought the food. It tasted like a bunch of frozen food that they heated. I couldn't even eat half the dishes. It was a high tea experience and they didn't bother asking us for our tea preferences. We had to ask them if we could have some tea. I wish we didn't have to do that, because it was just a tea bag that they bought from the supermarket and put that in a pot. The scones had raisins and when we requested for plain scones, they said they didn't have any. Overall if I could summarize this experience in one word. It was abysmal. Save your money and go anywhere else.
Love this place! Came here couple of times and tried the 3 course meal and seafood stack, food are very delicious and waitress are very attentive and friendly. Will definitely come back for special occasions.
Eye catching food and great customer service. For the quality of this restaurant I would expect a bit more taste on the food especially to the texture of the pork belly and a bit more sauce. The sauce u see on the pork dish was actually stick to the plate by the time it got to me. May be it was left on the hot plate for too long until the other meals were ready to serve.
Have eaten here for lunch and dinner multiple times and it has always been excellent. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the food fantastic. Highly recommended
