I have just been discharged from Epworth after a full left knee replacement. I had the surgery on my day of admission, followed by three nights in post operative and then seven nights in the Bethesda Rehabilitation Centre.nWithout exception, every part of my journey through this hospital was filled with skill, care and compassion. The staff in all of the wards, from senior nurses to orderlies, were pleasant and attentive. The physiotherapy was outstanding and I’m looking forward to my outpatient appointments.nThe hospital is very well maintained and even the older wards were clean, efficient and functional. The food was outstanding and I have nothing but admiration for the catering team who were able to turn out such consistently great meals, from such an extensive menu.nMy admission and discharge process was simple and effective and I really appreciated being able to do so much of it online.nThank you Epworth. I left today feeling strong and with a great respect for your work.
Obviously no one wants to be admitted to Hospital but during a recent admission at Richmond Epworth everyone here made it as good as possible. Honestly am very confused by all the negative reviews on here. I had scheduled day surgery & due to unforeseen circumstances was admitted for 4 days onto 2 Cato Ward. Massive thank you to all the Nurses -Sarah, Georgette, Emily, Lexie, Claire & Lucy. They were all really caring, friendly & consistent in their approach. They kept me updated with what was happening & nothing felt too much. I felt really looked after during my time on the ward. Even small things like finding headphones so I could watch TV was easily done. In addition to the nurses Urologist Daniel Steiner & Haematologist Sarah Kamel were excellent, thorough & very easy to talk to. The Support workers who took me to all the multiple diagnostic tests were also really friendly, kind & respectful. PLUS the food was next level -it really lifted my spirits having delicious food to look forward to. There’s a massive Vegetarian choice & I could choose when it was delivered via the computer / TV screen. I was also able to access my streaming services which definitely made the time go much quicker. This was my first time in a Private Hospital & I was really impressed & would highly recommend Epworth Richmond. Thank you very much to everyone for looking after me - I really appreciate it.
I want to sincerely thank Epworth Richmond Hospital, especially the nursing staff on Level 6. My father was admitted there for almost two months, and throughout this long and difficult time, the nurses were absolutely amazing.nnThey were kind, compassionate, patient, and always attentive not just to my father’s medical needs, but also to our family’s concerns. Their professionalism and genuine care made a stressful period much more bearable for us.nnWe truly felt supported and reassured knowing he was in such capable and caring hands. I’m deeply grateful to the entire Level 6 nursing team for their dedication and humanity.nnHighly recommended. 100/100
This was my second time using Epworth RichmondnnAmy the nurse after my surgery took great care of me and adviced what to donSanju the next day were absolutely wonderful to deal withnLester took great care in the night shiftnAll the staff is highly talented and friendly
If I could give lower than a 1 star I would.nA triage nursed argued with me about being triaged in person which I hadn't.nI was in chronic pain and I have post-traumatic stress disorder.nI explained that I have trauma with men.nI decided to leave because I felt uncomfortable there, she said the triage nurse. Well I'm going to get a male nurse to push you out. I said whatever you need to do. And she said ah. So you're okay with men now? Are you? My goodness, I'm absolutely gobsmacked in the lack of empathy and understanding of mental health. Did I scream? No did I yell no did I swear no. Check the cameras if Epworth if you don't believe me.nDid I get taken into the triage room no. Did anybody take my blood pressure when I said I had a pain in my chest? I tell you what if they find a clot in my arm a peninsula private guess who's getting sued you.nThe only saving Grace was a beautiful female nurse called Tiana that saw me crying outside and helped me. Just because I have complex trauma and I was crying doesn't negate the fact that I have two degrees and I'm actually smart but you treated me like I was dumb. The horrible female nurse said well we don't get much trauma here. Well maybe you should start learning about mental health problems because I behave appropriately. All I did was cry. They made my trauma worse. Now I'm on my way to peninsula private.nAwful experience epworth you should be really, really ashamed of yourself.
