This is a beautiful garden. Although many people are content to have simply visited it once, it makes a great place to come back to. Its beauty is quite unexpected given its placement in town. Make use of the informative audio tour, or simply take your time; it's definitely worth a visit.

Plenty of parking options. Close to city centre and next to the beautiful Dunedin train station and garden. Overall a nice place to visit (or better say photo shoot). You will be surprised once you get in 😉 Free entry on Chinese New year (that's why the place is so crowded in the pictures). The place could be perfect for wedding photography.

Nice place to visit. Pay to view , it was about 9 dollars when we went, not bad when you consider it was designed and built in China and dismantled and erected in Dunedin. Looks like the ones I have seen in China. Closes about 5pm allow 1hr for visit

$8 entry. A lot of effort went into creating this garden, and the rock garden part of it is quite special. There is a section on the early Chinese and how they were treated and faired with the early settlers. It probably connects better with the Chinese people of Dunedin, but a little lost on me. For those with limited time, I think there are some better things to spend time on.

The place has been nicely made, bearing the usual Oriental look and integrating Chinese art and culture well into the city. It may not be as polished as most gardens, nor as big, but it houses a pond with lotuses growing, wooden partitions with carved features, a small pump driven waterfall, and several bridges over the pond. A nice and serene environment except for the New Year's programme as many flock in to participate in the festivities.
