Ordered pork beans and it was delicious!! Coffeeflat white was a bit too milky and watery. Service is ok. Menu on their website is totally different from what is in the shop and does not seem the same as their instgram post guess its seasonal menu but was expecting it is consistent....overall not bad, very relaxing place with good weekend vibe.
We had a few happy hour drinks and then shared a couple of snacks and a burger. A fantastic relaxing bite. The drinks were great and service fast and professional. Will be back again with my wife soon.
Small place with a smaller menu but what they do, they do very well. Great coffee and tasty food at fair prices.
Consistently good food, chilled atmosphere and friendly staff. During summer we really enjoyed their Caesar salad which was exceptional. Breakfast options are also great. Magic Mushrooms with a hash brown is a great choice. They also have quite extensive specials :
I only went there for breakfast a few times. Coffee is decent. Food is good quality, but for my taste too fancy: the bacon was more like smoked pork chop and the salmon was cooked where you expect raw salmon with your eggs. Eggs were perfectly poached. Toasties are also quite nice. Quick and friendly service. The place is still changing since it's only open for a few month.
the place is beautiful. the people working there are really friendly and the cheff knows what he is doing!! i love the coffe.
So happy that these guys have opened in our hood! It's like the all star cafe team - St Ali and Duchess of Spotswood! Have been coming here since they took over the boring old cafe that was there before... Amazing breakfasts and lunches. Dinner is always spot on too. The service is relaxed, friendly and makes it a place that you just want to come back to again and again. As a local, I've found the other places in the vicinity to be overpriced food-wise - however these guys are spot on for value! Can't recommend Duke of Kerr enough!
Came for brunch on a quiet Wednesday and loved the location of this cafe which is in a lovely spot in the back streets of Fitzroy. With ample seating, the corner cafe is open to the breeze by big windows which makes the place inviting. Despite having a small menu, there is a good variety of dishes both sweet and savoury to suit everyone. Many dishes sounded enticing and although I was going to opt for the 'Pretty fly for a white rye' with hot smoked salmon on Baker Bleu rye with dill, pickled zucchini, salmon roe and crème fraîche, I changed my mind following the waiters recommendation of the Scotch Woodcock with scrambled eggs with sourdough and gentlemen’s relish. As I waited for my food I washed down a coconut milk latte which went down too well and a pot of jasmine green tea. My meal was delicious and well balanced. I liked the saltiness which the anchovies lent to the dish and the Gentlemen's relish was surprisingly savoury I was expecting it to be sweet and really added a complexity to the dish which worked very well together. Overall food, service and coffee was excellent. My only complaint would be that there was no music on for the majority of my time here which made the place excruciatingly quiet! Whether it was a technical issue or not, I would have enjoyed my time more if I didn't have to hear the word-for-word conversations of the corporate group next to me!
Had dinner here and the food was top notch and well-priced, highly recommend the steak or fish of the day. Service was good too. A slightly cheaper bottle of wine on the menu wouldn't hurt, as cheapest bottle of average red was 59 shmucks.
Excellent food and service. Very interesting menu and the food is always fantastic. Great place to relax for a coffee, beer or wine. Really friendly staff. A real hidden treasure in Fitzroy
