I was referred to Steven by my GP regarding two hernias. The whole process from initial appointment, surgery and review appointments was seamless. The professionalism of Steven, the quality of his work and follow up was outstanding. I would recommend Steven to anybody who has hernia issues that need attention.
Steven and his staff were fantastic. From first consultation until after the operation I felt at ease. The operation was a complete success and am back to full health. Can't thank them enough.

Lack lacklustre pre & post operative care Dr Karametos did not tell me of any potential complications or risks prior to my surgery despite me making an extra appointment to clarify this I ended up having a complication after surgery & called Dr Karametos twice describing what I now know to be a very common complication to the surgery I had. He was extremely dismissive & told me nothing was wrong. This complication was contributing a great deal to the amount of pain I was experiencing- it got so bad after a week I went to ER & the ER Dr after describing the same symptoms to her, figured out what my problem was, literally immediately.
Mr Karametos performed a laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair on me with excellent results. He is a dedicated, caring and professional surgeon who explained from the outset what my options were. He put me at ease about the surgery and everything went very smoothly. I highly recommend Mr Karametos. In addition, the communication from the staff at Reception is fantastic and they kept me informed at every step.
A large hernia repair that was not available in the Northern Territory was handled very professionally by Mr Karametos. Not only his surgical skills but also the pre and after care always allowed me to know what was happening. All the Melbourne Hernia Centre Staff were always friendly, helpful and courteous with any questions I had being answered in a timely manner.
Mr Steven Karametos Excellent Care and Friendly Staff, including Knox Hospital could not Fault, Extremely happy with resuts of the operation. 10/10.
Had a hernia repair on my groin all the staff were fantastic from surgeons to office staff beat service and job well don’t . Went above and beyond , no ask was to much of an ask . Customer service still exists . Melbourne hernia centre is clearly leading the race thanks a lot guys
