Amazing view of the esplanade with the mountains in the distance. Worth paying extra to be on the south eastern side of the building and as high up as possible.nnThe staff were fantastic, were always helpful when I needed assistance. The reception, room service, and housekeeping were consistently friendly.nnGood location. The food quality isn’t great but lots of restaurants and take out in the area to choose from.
Not much to complain about this hotel. Great location. Reasonable prices. Rooms were small but overall very comfortable. Solid 4 star hotel. I think overall the exterior feels old and could use some upgrades but really nothing to complain about. Nice little pool. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast.
This hotel is in the perfect location. It is close to the Esplanade and restaurants but far enough away from any noise. The Vines restaurant on site offers good food at a reasonable price, and the buffet breakfast has a good variety of foods. Our room was clean, spacious, and well equipped, with pleasant decor and a spectacular view. All of the staff at the hotel were accommodating and very friendly, in particular the reception staff, Kim and Nicole, who quickly remedied a booking problem. I can highly recommend DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns and look forward to going back.
We visited Cairns from San Francisco California and were impressed by this facility.nThe hotels location is within walking distance of most shopping restaurants and the pier. The hotel facilities are great. Vicky our room attendant was very accommodating and had our needs met during our stay. The manager Mr Sooraj was accommodating and helpful.nThe restaurant had a wide variety for breakfast which was delightful.nThe tour desk guide extremely helpful in guiding us for the best tours that met our needs.nThe hotel reception staff are very pleasant and professional. Appreciate each member of this facility. Thank you for your hospitality and your service.
While we enjoyed our Le petit chef experience I am serverly disappointed with the process for refunds. I was overcharged on the night, a refund for my overcharge was processed, I was then re-charged the correct amount plus charged another charge $700 double what the entire experience was cost. It completely held up funds on my card for a week. I would recommend anyone closely monitor their charges to avoid this experience happening to them. Never have I had a company take additional money out of my account when they are the ones who owed me a refund to begin with.
