Dillenger Electric Bikes - Gold Coast

I'm very happy with my purchase of the Dillenger Premium Off-road Electric Bike Kit. It arrived fast, and no hassle installation. I highly recommend this rear wheel hub kit. It has good torque and very speedy. I travel so much further and see so much more since I installed the kit on my bicycle. I would definitely purchase another one. I feel like I have the coolest bike in town. Loving it.

On 27th October 2022 I purchased my new ebike from Dillenger Electric Bikes in Arundel, on the Gold Coast in Queensland. The background is that I had purchased a couple of folding electric bikes from a well-known retail chain – one for my wife and one for myself. At $599 each these were very much at the lower end of the price range for electric bikes. Unfortunately both these bikes had serious issues and so I went to a few bike shops to see if they could repair them. None of these bike shops were interested in even looking at the faulty bikes, partly because they would not be able to source spare parts. In the end I was able to return both folding bikes for a full refund, and I understand they went straight to a landfill dump. However having experienced the benefits of an electric bike, I was keen to buy one that would be much better quality. At this stage my wife decided she didn’t want a bike, so I was in the market for an ebike for me. I also realised that the step-through style of ebike suits me the best, at my age 73 years. So I started doing my research and looking around at other electric bike options. I looked at bikes advertised online from overseas, including eBay and Amazon. Plus I went to some retail stores on the Gold Coast, as well as investigated the ebikes that can be ordered from other states in Australia. I soon realised that electric bikes vary considerably in price. My earlier experience with a lack of backup service made me very wary about what brand of ebike I should look at. It is all very well a business offering a warranty, but if there are going to be problems in getting after-sales service, then a warranty might not be very useful. Fortunately I went to the Arundel premises of Dillenger Electric Bikes, and was assisted by Iris, who was very helpful. I was able to take one of their display bikes for a couple of test rides before deciding to make my purchase. I took the option of having the upgrade to a display unit that had 9 levels of power assist, plus speedometer and odometer. I felt this was preferable to the standard display unit. A real bonus is that Iris arranged for my new ebike to be fully assembled and ready for me to collect from their premises. So much easier than me trying to do the assembly myself. I have been riding my ebike every day since I purchased it, and I am delighted with it. I am achieving a range of around 50 kms from a full charge, which I am pleased with. The range will vary depending on what level of pedal assist is used, and how much the throttle is used. I find the throttle to be an excellent feature, especially when taking off at traffic lights, etc. However I do pedal mostly to ensure I get exercise, and use the throttle sparingly. Dillenger Electric Bikes has been in business for more than 15 years I believe. Based on my experience in dealing with Iris, I am confident that in the unlikely event of me needing service or warranty issues with my ebike, I will be looked after. Amazing bike Dillenger Hunter V3.....attractive frame....it's nicer in real than showned in the website. 3rd speed rode 40kms and only one line used of battery. 9th speed is amazing, obviously uses up energy though. Great and quiet motor, umph as taking off on high speed. Decent brakes, however, would have preferred hydraulic brakes. Turning corners it behaves well however, the fork is weak riding on high speed. No regrets......After 1300km the bike is a joy to ride. Continues to be my favorite bike out of all the other bikes I own. I've changed to Schwalbe super moto-x 2.4 tyres. The experience is unique with these tyres.

I purchased the off-road ebike conversion kit, great company with amazing service to back it up. I asked alot of presale questions all of which were answered very promptly by their friendly and knowledgeable staff. My kit had an issue with the battery which was diagnosed with their help, they shipped a replacement battery same day which arrived the next day to semi-rural Queensland! Very happy with the result and the support, definitely reccomend if you're looking to convert your bike.

Purchased a street legal front wheel hub conversion kit last year and have absolutely loved it. I was a little sus on conversion kits, and front wheel ones especially, but I’ve been really impressed by the amount of assistance it provides and have even had some fun using it to mountain bike off-road. Very fast delivery and easy installation - I didn’t know anything about bike maintenance before buying it - and the battery life has more than covered anywhere I’ve wanted to go. Would recommend.

Purchased an ebike kit from these guys this week. The kit came with everything needed. Some parts had to be swapped for parts that fitted the bike that I was fitting the kit to and the staff at dillenger where happy to help and provided all the help I needed to complete the kit. Got 40km on the first battery charge so km predictions were pretty spot on. Would highly recommend checking them out if you live locally.

I recently purchased an ARC Feather kit from Dillinger after having test driven one at a bike shop. Delivery was prompt and the product is well engineered. Fitting the torque arm sent me looking for help, my only criticism. The rest of the installation was a breeze. I don't commute on this bike, it is used for 40km rides on the Cooks River pathway and for that it is EXCELLENT. The bike is a 30 year old 18 speed custom Europa, out of Kensington NSW. Now with 3 speed hub and back pedal brake.

Super helpful with helping me find the right kit, and they checked my personal bike specifications to make sure it would fit. After my purchase I made too many purchases and they happily took my resaleable product back for a refund. Quick replies via email. THANK YOU DILLENGER!

I purchased the DIY Bafang BBSHD mid drive conversion kit from Dillenger after doing my homework on e-bikes. I installed it on my Merida 27.5" hardtail mtb. I needed to get some spacers for the bottom bracket but all in all the installation went fairly smoothly. The staff at Dillenger were very helpful and were happy to answer any enquiries I had. The price of the kits are very reasonable. I'm very happy with my purchase. Update after a year or so of use: This kit is holding up strong and is quite possibly the best purchase I have made in several years. It's a great commuter which is not only a thrill to ride but saves me money at the same time.

Delivery was lightning fast, and I’ve been very happy with the product ebike off-road conversion kit. Dillinger were also very helpful when I had a minor issue and sent me a replacement part straight away.
