I was visiting the CNP just last week in April 2015. The weather was hot 35+ very different to Canberra (only 10+). The lakes are spectacular most of them with no water but worth a visit. Plenty wild lives including pigs, goats and emus. Also large number of birds of prey: whistling kits and wedged tails eagles. Before you jump to your 4WD a worming, be prepare and take a set of spare tie; we had to change it twice. The road is dusty and tough .
