This park really packs it in! There are incredible floral displays, tightly trimmed to and majestic trees! You will find a bit of whimsy mixed with practicality as you wander this city-square sized park!
We visited during the carnival of flowers, we had our dog with us and it was so good to be able to enjoy a walk around and have our dog welcomed as well. Thanks Toowoomba. Love your work, looked great and smelled wonderful.
A must see visit in the city centre as part of the Carnival of Flowers and generally. Lovely spot to sit, relax, have a picnic and just enjoy the beautiful nature and fragrant flowers. Tip: I recommend parking close by at Secure Parking, 183 Herries St $7 for the day during the event.
Beautiful park to visit, very colourful, a good variety of plants/trees etc interesting objects for children to find- little dinosaurs etc well maintained and a lot of delightful shady spots for picnics.
Laurel Bank Park in Toowoomba is a sensory delight and a local treasure—especially for flower lovers and families. Here's what makes it shine:nFloral Spectaclen- Famous for its springtime displays during the Carnival of Flowers, with tulips, cherry blossoms, and themed garden beds that draw crowds and cameras.n- The Scented Garden, designed with input from the Downs Association of the Blind, features raised beds of fragrant herbs and blooms for an immersive experience.nPlay and Relaxationn- A recently upgraded playground includes inclusive equipment like adaptive swings, climbing walls, and nets.n- Wide lawns, shaded picnic areas, croquet greens, and water features make it perfect for a leisurely afternoon.nCommunity and Charmn- Hosts events like the Carnival Parade and Devonshire teas at the Croquet Club.n- Interactive art, animal-shaped topiaries, and sculptures add whimsy and character throughout the park.nAccessibility and Amenitiesn- Easy parking, clean toilets, and nearby cafés like Urban Designs make it visitor-friendly.n- Dogs are welcome, and the park’s compact layout makes it easy to explore without feeling rushed.nHistorical Rootsn- Donated in 1932 by Samuel George Stephens, known as “the man of flowers,” who personally cultivated the land before gifting it to the city.nIf Queens Park is Toowoomba’s grand stage, Laurel Bank Park is its intimate garden theatre—bursting with color, fragrance, and community spirit.
