Magnificent Library with the best Military History section you will find in any library located next to a lake/pond with great views. And the War Memorial Cenotaph right by the front entrance.
A very big library in Croydon and well maintained. They have a huge collection of book’s magazines cd and newspapers. I went there to borrow some books for my son and they seem to have large collection to choose from. We can reserve books online if required and pick them up. The best part is the process to borrow books which can be done via machine which automatically reads all the books once we place them under the bar code scanner. I will highly recommend this library.
Came to the library for some quiet study time, only to find that group had taken over the computer area and were LOUDLY having a group meeting. I understand that groups will use the library space, but is it too much to respect other people around you? Library staff didn't seem overly concerned when I asked how long the group would be there.
I was very disappointed with the seemingly limited supply in every classification on my first visit. Didn’t feel enthused. However I am new to the area and hope others nearby which I’m yet to visit fill the gaps and have a much wider selection. I do tho much appreciate that council provides this as a free service and staff work very hard within limits applied.
Best and biggest library in the area. Great amount of recentish videogames, board games and obviously books.nnLots of computers free to use never all taken, and neat little things like phone/laptop charge banks, and free seeds to plant.nnChoice of areas like desks, tables, comfier chairs near a big window by the bin chicken pond.nnOnly negatives are because it's all one open space it can be too noisy if there's an event on common in mornings, there's no cozy armchair-like seats/nooks, and the toilets are sometimes really gross much worse on average than other libraries.nnMy favourite place to be when I want to be elsewhere without being having to spend money.
