Great place to shop with very friendly staff. It hasn't all things, but most of the necessary and major brands. Prices are also good and usual discounts on several things. However, one star taken because it's not easy to find a car parking! So, prepare to keep making rounds till someone finishes shopping and leave!
My first time at Countdown Pt Chev. I searched everywhere for lime juice. I asked a customer. They couldn't find it. I asked a staff member. They directed me to lime cordial. I finally decided to look for actual limes and found the lime juice in the fresh fruit and vegetable aisle.
Smaller supermarket on a small site. Parking is not always easy. However once inside the staff are great, the smaller range is always well stocked. Really love the place!!
Couldn't find a product, asked a staff member who clearly couldn't be bothered. I asked if they had any out the back. He immediately said no. Didn't check at all. Poor service.
One of the worst stocked supermarkets in Auckland. Always running out of veggies and other popular items. The quality of the veggies I'd pretty poor too, its like all the good product gets sent to the Richmond Road store and Point Chev is left with the rejects.
Well overdue for a replacement. Small and cramped due to its aged designed and trying to get all the Countdown products stocked. Lacking some items. Good service from friendly staff.
Unfortunately, professional beggars are making this an unhappy destination. The same beggars - all with the same story needing money for food A shopping experience might involve up to three encounters, and some are very aggressive. Now they are walking through the car park asking for money as you pull in. Langi the manager at Countdown does what he can to remove them, and others have called the police I've seen them arrest several - I assume they have been arrested - the police have taken them away There are many older folk who shop here and they find it easier to give in and give them money than to say no. It's really sad that good people are being targeted in this way by predators. Langi tells me at least one of them has been doing it for years and he's had problems with him at other Countdown locations he managed. These beggars have all been trespassed from the location so if you see them please do the right thing, and call the police. If they are aggressive - call 111 The police know this is a problem at this location but need the public to contact them when this is happening.
A countdown supermarket in 4 Square clothing. Concise little supermarket tucked into the Point Chevalier shopping mall. It's small size reflects the smaller range of goods on offer but they do manage to pack a lot into the small size they have. Prices are more competitive than similar sized mini-marts so that is nice. Good range of beer and wine on offer for those that need it. Fresh fruit and breads are of a good quality too. Theres a large parking behind the building as well, making it convenient for quick stops.
I like thee fish choice sometimes because it can be affordable and for 8 bucks you can delicious dish [ plenty ].
One of the staff Jane makes it a nice place to go when you need some things. She is knowledgeable, smiley, approachable and always there to help. Thanks Jane, you're awesome!
