Super chaotic - time your visit around the busy times if possible! It was so crowded and manic at lunch time today that we left with only the essentials instead of finishing shopping. Otherwise it seems fine - I think it could be a pretty decent Countdown at less busy times.
So far, this is the most organized, clean and beat countdown in Christchurch that i’ve been too. I really enjoyed getting my grocery here. The vegetables and fruits too are well presented. Lots of parking spaces too. The staff are nice. Keep up the good work.
Mostly good. It's beautiful inside, can find everything easily. The lady on self checkouts is friendly as are most staff. I've encountered a couple of disinterested staff here on the odd occasion. I've had items missing in my click and collects but they seem to sort the issue quickly at head office. I mostly bring my own bags but I have had the most amazing packing into the paper bags. There is some really caring staff working here. This branch tops all of them in chch!!!
For the last six years I have been doing quality/professional non financial audits of businesses in Australia. After two visits to this site. I noticed the poor quality of the staff on both occasions. On the first visit one staff member even ridiculed the dietary choices of my purchased products. On the second visit another staff member said “down there” when I asked the location for a specific product instead of showing me where it was and then at the cashier, I was asked to pack my own bags….if I wanted to do that I would of gone to PaknSave …… I won’t be returning to this store.
I go here quite often and usually find it to be a good experience. However, the guy on the lotto tonight shouldn't be dealing with people. He doesnt greet customers. Didnt acknowledge my hello or my thanks no smile nothing. He was the same with the previous customer! Only words he said was the price to pay and that was a huge effort. I found him very rude. Especially for the lotto counter. If you don't want to deal with the public including polite public , then find a different job.
Christmas rush was on. The staff were polite. I enquired about a product to which the lady I will show you. She could've just told me a lane to go to. Thank you for your help.
Nice store, usually has better selection of fruit and veg than Countdown Eastgate, not the last few weeks though unfortunately
Love this shop the cleanliness and the way things are set out when you walk in and the staff are aweesome
I love this shop, excellent deli and beautiful salads..
Tidy and well laid out, but I'm surprised at the amount of single-use plastic packaging still in use here, particularly in the fruit and vegetable section - some popular items are only available in plastic packaging mandarins, garlic and other gob-smacking items are sold pre-packaged such as plastic wrapped diced vegetables. Fish is also mostly only available packaged in copious amounts of plastic. While the rest of the world is moving on, this Countdown seems to be going backwards on packaging, so best avoid if you're into sustainability...
