Wow I guess the multitude of bad reviews and ratings here says it all really. I purchased a near new VW T cross 2020 as a demo model 1.5 years ago off these guys. Which had the balance of a 3 year warranty still left on it. It’s had one service which from memory cost around $450 approx last year. I’m aware they have a service schedule but today was only its 2nd service. I was completely stung with a bill of $818.70. What a complete rip off but if I don’t pay it the warranty is void. To add insult to injury they wouldn’t let me take the account to pay it online as was done for my first service which my husband would gladly have done so the following week. Oh no you can’t take the car if you don’t pay for it right here right now. Who does that wow. Almost stand over tactics well that’s how it felt anyway! I had to pay with personal credit card which I wasn’t overly keen on doing as I also got charged a surcharge for using my card on top of an already exorbitant invoice. My husband was currently away on a fishing trip and out of range for the weekend. If I had known this was going to happen. I would have organised the funds with him the week prior. Their bank account details are listed on the bottom of the invoice to pay online. I wonder why this information is there if it is not a facility available to use. Come on guys was this really a fair deal I don’t think so. It certainly isn’t much of an incentive to keep coming back for servicing ones car once it is out of warranty that’s for sure. I hate to think what an older car would cost to service here. .
Not a very good experience dealing with the sales team on a car at this branch, when you want to negotiate, they miraculously say the car has been sold and not available anymore, when you look online on various platforms, the same car is still available for sale. Shop around, VW dealers on the North Shore offer much better customer service & go the extra mile to keep their customers happy.
Took my vehicle in for a valuation and took 3 days to get anyone to call me back. When they did Cam maybe seemed very annoyed to be speaking to me and gave me a one sentence answer when I was told I’d get a written report. Now I have to go somewhere else for what I needed
Great service from the VW Foreman of the Service Team. Was really helpful when we dropped in unannounced when we were 2 1/2 hours from home as our vehicle had developed a fault. He identified and fixed the fault all with a smile. A great reflection on the service of the team at Continental Cars.
Always parking their cars on the footpath partially blocking it - disrespectful staff when I asked them to move their car. Plenty of available car parks on the other side of the road or on the side street. No need to park on the footpath.
They don’t even deserve 1 star! Rattles and vibrations in both rear doors of a new Passat. 1st visit Tell them it’s mainly the rear passenger door and if you touch the panel, speaker surrounds or wind down the window it stops. Mechanic took this info and diagnosed the noises from the rear doors as coming from the drivers footwell as there was a deodorant in there. So nothing was done….. 2nd visit They took panel off and did nothing Now I have vibrations, rattles and a loose door panel. So it’s now worse….. 3rd visit Finds the speaker surrounds have loose parts in them. Shows me a video of them rattling. Glues them in. However still have noises. 4th visit. Emailed saying I still have issues with the doors mainly drivers side. Finds external door trim loose and shows me a video of it making the horrible noise I’ve had to listen to for six months. Fixes one side with Velcro tape. I asked if he fixed the other side as that has been the most noisey and it is a mirror image of the other side. They did not…. Appalling service! I left the car there as I’ve had enough!. I wouldn’t let these muppets fix my wheelbarrow! Their suitable solution is to take it somewhere else... Fancy looking car guys in suits that cannot fix a rattle. I took the service manager for a drive and offered to drive him on my exact road. He said it wasn't necessary and would take too long. we drove around the block and he heard rattle straight away. Dealer principle lied and said i didn't let them take the car for a drive.... lying, and incompetent. Do not buy from these idiots.
Had a representative answer my query which is lovely but the customer service quickly took a 180 when I confirmed the answer by asking again, not 100% sure haha.
Don't waste your time here, go to Giltrap Botany. I brought my VW Golf here for an inspection. They kept the car for 4 days only returning it when we turned up to pick it up and charged me $230 trying to convince me they had done so much for me to justify the cost. After diagnosing the problem as a clutch replacement, they attempted to get it approved through my mechanical insurance. The insurer requested photos which the service manager determined to difficult to deal with and told us they had declined it. I contacted the insurer myself and they provided the truth, and said they would also accept a report by a mechanic explaining why this issue should be covered. I requested this from Continental Cars and they refused seemingly this was too much effort for them. After this terrible service, I still decided to go ahead and pay for the full replacement myself - I requested to be booked in with a courtesy car. After days without replies and multiple follow ups I got sick of this and reached out to Giltrap Botany - they had me booked in with the hour, only charged $60 for the inspection, got the insurance claim approved and provided a great experience overall. Before you claim I wasn't a customer, this was all put through your system under my partners name.
I took my daughters VW Polo in for a failed Passenger side daytime driving light. Phillip Badenhorst was just excellent. He found out that it wasn't just the bulb, but a melted fitting. They had the replacement part later in the day, at a very reasonable cost and fitted it free of charge. Couldn't have asked for better service!
Worst service I could imagine. They don't answer the phone and don't return calls. When finally made contact they failed to do what they promised. Make sure you stay well clear of these cowboys! It’s not the fact they refused to do the work, it’s the fact they would not let me know until I had arrived, after leaving messages that they couldn’t be bothered answering. Then ignored my request for a simple email confirmation. I’ll certainly never recommend them to anyone.
