No care / compassion, just following orders from a book of rules. Lets hope these people never have to deal with people who work in this sector.
Turned up to sort out my son's application for Youth Allowance having just completed VCE. Best, most helpful staff I have ever experienced at Centrelink. Provided a linking code and did the ID for my son and the rest of the process could be completed easily at home. I was so surprised and impressed at how lovely and extremely professional all the staff were in assisting us with our application.
We can't blame every failure on a Pandemic. Government, {in}human services and medicare alike. what is the point of running offices if everything can be fixed with a linking code, online or self service? what are the elderly supposed to do? without an updated Medicare card visiting GPs and whatnot!? stop wasting Taxpayers god forbid dare I say it, theft?
I’ve moved around a few times and I’ve gotta say the service from this Centrelink branch is way better than compared to other branches. Sure they don’t welcome you with hugs and kisses but they’re actually much more friendlier and helpful than staff from other branches such as Flemington, Sunshine and Melton. You have to remember that they’re short-staffed not their fault since the government sacked a lot of public servants ok? and they’re swamped, they’re doing the best they can and there’s no point losing your cool at them.
I wish I could say I have had a good experience. I am a single Mum and it has been quite difficult like for many other families through this "covid" time but centrelink insisted that my younger son is not entitled to anything other that a concession card. Even though he was studying from home according to centrelink "he is not entitled to any benefits. It appears it is not what you know but who m you know that will get you somewhere
I’ve only ever had good dealings with this Centrelink office. Yeah, the staff don’t fall at your feet and shower you with warmth and affection, but it’s a Centrelink office so you shouldn’t expect to be treated like royalty. Put yourself in their shoes for a second; It can’t be the most pleasant of jobs. Staff members have to deal with all sorts of people and all sorts of situations. They’re not exactly getting paid at a rate that’s gonna propel them straight to the top of the Forbes rich list. Anyways, it’s like with most aspects of life: if you wanna be treated with respect, or at the very least civility, then that’s how you should treat others.
So sad to see others complaining about service standard. At Watergardens Lisa provided excellent service in relation to four different clients. There were times over the past few months when I visited four different Centrelink offices representing my clients interests. In relation to the negative comment re Reza, he was obviously having an off day at the front counter - who wouldn't , dealing with a 10% feriles on average.** Source estimate provided by employees of Centrelink during discussions Keep up the good work guys, it can be a thankless job at times. Disgusting. I am enraged at how difficult the government makes it to claim student allowance through their poor website and lazy staff. To contact them through phone is a procedure that almost made me cry. Call this number to be told to call another number as they are not entitled to that information. That number then tells you to visit the contact us website which guides you back to the first number. It is this difficult yet there are still people who don't have jobs with no intention of getting a job who are using the Centrelink benefits to buy 80 inch televisions and a "sweet sound system" in their commodore. Now I'm going to have to wait in line for half an hour to be told, "all your enquiries can be answered online". No, they can't. Last time I was there on their computers there internet "is just slow today". Slow? It wouldn't load the Centrelink claim page after 20 minutes of waiting. Then it just had a white screen. I had to leave or else I would end up screaming at someone. I hate the system. I am appalled. Now I don't even want to interact with their complaint department as I am worried they will be as difficult.
Honestly, I hate the centrelink process. I'm glad it exists, but it's full of holes and you have to jump through so many hoops to get anywhere. No longer being on centrelink, I still find myself in the office or on the phone lines helping other people. I can safely say that this office is the best office I've been to. The people are lovely, there's a nice atmosphere rare for centrelink, everyone is calm, and the lady I've talked to more than once at the office Tamara is amazing. She's lovely, and really listens and understands the different circumstances that each person is facing. She makes me, and the people I support, feel like we're listened to, and has gone out of her way to help us on more than one occasion. I feel like less of a number in a system there, and more like a person.
Lady with short brown hair and glasses was very rude from the moment we walked in she was not helpful. She needs manners.
